Either you are an adult at 18, or not (that goes for booze, too, BTW). They should make up their minds and be done with it -- but if they choose to raise the age, then raise it for EVERYTHING: marriage, contracts, military service, voting, abortions...everything.

That position would be easier to defend. But as can be seen, defensibility is not a consideration for crafting legislation.
BTW, in Florida, a minor may not be required to obtain consent for an abortion (not from a parent, and not from a court either), and cannot be required to inform a parent. 13 year olds can go to the clinic and get an abortion with less hassle than many 18 year olds have buying a pack of smokes.
