The head of Lugansk regional council, Victor Tikhonov, has been detained in General Office of Public Prosecutor. The details of the arrest are unknown.

Tikhonov is one of the active participants of "separative congress" in Severodonetsk, "Obcom" reported.

We remind, the head of Donetsk regional council, Boris Kolesnikov, was invited to General Office of Public Prosecutor on April 6 for giving testimonies concerning the case of separatism and encroachment on territorial integrity of Ukraine. Kolesnikov was detained there and is still under arrest.

The leader of Social Democratic Party of Ukraine (united), Victor Medvedchuk, commented on the detaining of Tikhonov to ForUm’s correspondent.

In particular he said, that "the actions of law machinery are nothing but political repressions, which, unfortunately, continue and increase in our country."

Seems every week now one or two opposition leaders is being arrested. The speaker of the Rada was even complaining that he was being followed and recorded by Yushchenko's boys.

King Kuchma's head enforcer should know all about "political repressions." Somebody should ask Medvedchuk how much money he made from UN Oil for food kickbacks and selling weapons to Saddam.
