FX channel | ME girlangler@bellsouth.net

Posted on 07/27/2005 7:27:38 PM PDT by girlangler

I am so MAD, watching this piece of garbage on TV. Where can I write to the executives of this channel?

They are trying to make another Viet Nam out of this, and make our troops look like idiots.

God, I'm angry!!!!

Did you ever consider actually telling us what you're talking about?

My thoughts, exactly ... and I'll add it's trite, predictable typically lame Hollywood garbage ... what a disappointment.

I don't know where you can write...FX is owned by Fox.

I did see an article about this show, that said that some recent returned troops from Iraq saw a screening and were picking it apart for its lack of "reality"...

How else can you undermine a war and make it look like it's just another way of disposing of the lower minority classes and still claim to support the troops? /sarcasm

Yes, it has a Democratic Party bias, but it's pretty entertaining. I liked it.

FWIW, Steven Bochco (sp?) was on O'Reilly last night, and told Bill he "wouldn't be disappointed in the portrayal of our military". What a surprise..........a lib LIED.

I'm not planning on watching but the creator of this was stating the other day this thing would not be out to make a political statement. I gather from your reation, this was pure BS!

"Don't watch it."

DO watch it and TELL US THE ADVERTISERS. They are the ones you've got to target.

You'd have better luck complaining if you were Muslim and you claimed that the show defamed you. Then you'd get an on-air apology.

Fox is betting that we wont put our money where our mouths are. For me personally, this is the last straw. I have already emailed them that I will cease consuming ANY of their products until this treasonous garbage is off the air.

Thanks for the heads-up. I spent thirty years in uniform, and usually wind up picking apart the war films I see. The exception was "We Were Soldiers." Thanks for watching this one and letting me know not to bother.

What do you expect from hollyweird you didnt expect them to treat our soldiers like heroes when those people see them as villans.

I was in Hershey, PA recently and I can't figure out if the Hershey bar was named after the town or if the town was named after the Hershey bar.

I was walking by that new stadium out in Hershey and some guy pulled over and asked me where the ticket booth was. I told him that I did not know on account of the fact that I was just a tourist passing through. In fact, I was on my morning walk while my family was in the Hershey factory buying souveniers and candy at the gift shop. Anyway, the guy wished me good day.

I thought the info I put on my post made that clear.

I'm still unlearned about this posting stuff, but this movie is BULLSHIT.

I have two great nephews in Iraq right now, and have one good friend on a second tour there. I have sent boxes to people I don't know there (as well as Aphganistan), and I'm DAMN mad about this.

I also read the post here a few days ago from the Iraq soldier saying this was trash. But I want to know the enemy, and now Hollywierd is my enemy.

How DARE they put out this trash now.

I saw commercials for this and could tell it was going to be nothing but liberal propaganda. I'm staying away from it.

Besides, I'm still trying to get over Spielberg's typical message of children always being much more intelligent and worldly than adults that I witnessed watching War of the Worlds yesterday.

I have to admit I didn't watch it...

This might sound weird, but my husband is a Vietnam Vet, and he has never been able to watch movies made about that war..and neither have I.. He doesn't have deep psychological wounds or anything, he just doesn't "feel the need"...

So, when I was contemplating watching his show, I got the same feeling inside I do whenever I hear that Apocolypse Now, or some other Vietnam movie comes on. Except now, I think that by watching, I would be "trivializing" the war, and "disrespecting" the troops that are "OVER THERE" REALLY FIGHTING...

Does that make any sense at all?
