Police Chief Says Thousands Trapped in New Orleans Convention Center
AP ^ | 1-Sept-2005 | AP

Posted on 09/01/2005 2:49:12 PM PDT by Fitzcarraldo

The New Orleans police chief says 15-thousand people are trapped in the city's convention center. And he says some are being raped and beaten.

Chief Eddie Compass says displaced tourists are "walking in that direction and they are getting preyed upon."

Compass said he sent eight eleven-man teams into the convention center. But as soon as the first team arrived, he said, "they were beaten back within 30 feet of the entrance."

Earlier, the city's mayor issued a "desperate SOS" on behalf of the thousands who are stranded at the convention center.

He also gave the go-ahead for them to march across a bridge to a dry area of the city and look for whatever relief they could find.

I think a child's need to feel loved by parents is stronger than a parent's love for the child.

I have heard this over and over from convicts...break down and cry cause they were abandoned by their folks.

These young black thugs lack good male role models and often even decent moms too who may have been teens themselves.

Then hopefully there is an auntie or granny to do best they can but sometimes a young lad will resent female authority quick and grow a disrespect for it...as is exemplified in rap videos and language all too often,

Then self hatred and anger

Then society and some kulture excuses and applauds that as expression...the enablers...guilty or just ignorant

that's just my armchair view

my upbringing was pure Leave it to Beaver and I was still bad news till around 40...i learned my lessons the good old fashioned hard way

We have little credibility left to look down our noses at Liberia or Sierra Leone.

Remember Mogadishu. Hopefully it won't get that bad.

There are not enough troops because they are all being sucked into the Iraq quagmire. Heck, they don't even have enough helicopters in NO to do the job. Too many in Iraq.

Other than inside your head, where can the rest of us find that kind of information?

I heard that NG commander say that also and thought WTH? He is scared and that does not give me a good feeling.

My son is going down there tomorrow to pick up a trailer and fuel tank he let a sheriff use to haul equipment in. That does not give me a good feeling either.

I got Tom Brown's Field Guide to City and Suburban Survival as a part of Y2K study. Dude made me wish I lived out in the wild with nothing but a sharp stick and perfect vision.

Not only do we look bad, the terrorists have figured out where we are very vulnerable. Not good.

I wonder if the folk who survived the recent Tsunami acted like those N.O. animals?!

Tsunami Survivor Raped By Rescuer

Tsunami survivors now fear rape

Plenty of inhumanity to go around.

The convention center isn't the Superdome. The convention center is along the Mississippi next to the Crescent Connection Bridge.

"they were beaten back within 30 feet of the entrance."

This guy sounds like a coward. If his are men tasked with gaining control over the facility to stop rapes and beatings, whoever gets in the way of that mission should be shot on the spot.

Did you read post #488 & 491? Scary. Ever since 911 I have wondered where Farrakhan had gone...so quiet, no face.

Behind the scene a recruiter for the terrorist? Are they intending to take over cities this way?

Tin Foil needed?

Amen. There is a very sane and logical reason why in the olden days, martial law was declared, and looters were shot on the spot.

Once civil order disintigrates and anarchy reigns, it's damn tough to regain control. The animals need to see concrete examples of an iron fist in action.

Shoot to kill orders should have been given on day one, for any looters seen carrying anything other than water and food.

A simple, inexpensive survival kit for the urban jungle is readily available.

Go to your food store and buy enough water, sardines, and canned food of your choice for a week for all members of your family. Then go to the nearest gun store and buy a shotgun and 250 rounds of 00 buckshot.

Problem solved.

Oh, don't forget to buy some good books and a radio and batteries.

Yup. I've been referring to the looters/animals/scum as "the infected" for the last 3 days.

No, we don't look good. Now imagine if this had been a surprise attack without the 48 hour (or more) warning. Take note, everybody. It might be your city next time.

80% of babies born to black mothers are illegitimate. And about one third of the general population are illegitimate. This is a ticking time bomb (the fuse is getting pretty short) which will destroy our country if not turned around.
