At the very least it will take a very, very long time to fix it.

The water levels have equalized and now a barge with crane and more substantial materials than sand bags can be positioned to patch up the breaks in the levies much more efficiently and safer than using multimillion dollar blackhawks.

Use the helicopters to drop in supplies (food, water, radios) and security squads and ferry folks out.

They must have some really stupid bureaucrats running the show in N.O.

BLANK-CO is closing schools tomorrow so she can use the buses to evacuate N.O. The first order of business should be to secure the city, establish staging areas with hot food and water, move the residents to the staging areas and transmit instructions (helicopters with loud speaker, drop pamphlets & etc.) to the ones that can walk out then send the buses to move them from staging areas to evacuation centers.

It's not rocket science. You now have all these people milling around with NO instructions as to what they should do. The ball was dropped big time. Louisiana and the US gets a black eye and hundreds of people will die and many other hundreds traumatized for life due to the piss poor planning and a bunch dumb-asses in charge who are in way over their collective heads.

Simplistic, I know ---- but if the entrance is where these lowlifes are, then bulldoze holes in the convention walls on the sides and back of the center, so that people can get out. Meanwhile keep the criminals busy at the entrance.

Loved the picture posts, nothing Marshall Dillon couldn't fix. But I must point out that using the Police is not Martial law, using the Military is Martial law. It must be declared because the military is not allowed normaly to operate against citizens in this country by a law known as Posse Comitas, I believe..... Anyone?

I'm not saying you're wrong. But if martial law is declared, the police still continue to function as police officers. Their powers are somewhat enhanced though. I just couldn't find a good military picture at the time.
