Legal Expert-Blanco was legally in charge of Disaster Relief
Fox News | Sat 9-10-05 | ME

Posted on 09/10/2005 6:27:25 AM PDT by MNJohnnie

Just watched a legal expert on Fox go thru the disaster event by event. Based on the Law Gov Blanco is legally liable. If lawsuits are filed, there is no way she can duck it. In addition, when Bush went went down there, he offered her immediate deployment of Reg Army troops, she told both him and Nagel that she "needed 24 hours" to decide. This is DC politics. As everyone from Bush to Clinton to Carter learned, Washington Politics are a whole lot tougher then local politics. Blanco is toast. EVEN if the National Dems get the "Independent Commission" there is no way to rescue her based on the Law. I suspect that is why Mayor Nagel has been so quiet. He found out last Fri just who was holding the knife in his back, and it wasn't Bush

It was a pretty good timeline - and that's what we need access to, a good timeline. I wish I had a transcript (and I confess that I haven't read the whole thread yet, so one may be present).

Did you catch the consternation created in the hosts of Weekend Fox and Freinds?

Well that is what happens to Media Group Think when the fact contradicts the spin line. Their initial response is always to challenge the facts rather then their own perceptions.

Under her leadership, tourism in Louisiana increased by 41 percent.

Everybody spouts these statistics as if this is a great accomplishment. Let's see, 8 years in office, a total increase of 41%. That equates to slightly less than a compounded 4.4% per year. That's just a little bit greater than the rate of inflation. And that's an accomplishment for a tourist mecca like New Orleans?

How much did tourism increase in other sunbelt areas such as St. Petersburg, Ft. Lauderdale, Key West, etc.?

The management of my company is evaluated based on how well we do compared with other companies. This removes the automatic cyclic effects of the market. A deceptively good absolute number is not acceptable if it's no better than the competition. There are some times when even the worst performers can still show good numbers in spite of their own inadequacies! That doesn't show good management, but only demonstrates the value of being in the right place at the right time.

Apparently, Cancun had an evac plan just like New Orleans ... the difference ... Cancun followed theirs

Yep, and the democrat party controlled govt. in NO and LA can't run away from this fact, no matter how much cover they get from the MSM.

"Their names are Hillary Clinton and Mary Landrieu."

I'm SURE you can add "Patty Murray" and "Maria Cantwell" to the list.

If and buts,...... If Bobby Jindal was elected governor, he would have made New Orleans follow the evacuation procedure, then the Superdome would not have gotten messed up on the inside.

If you have ever served in a role like that you would know that she definitely civilly responsible (personally and for the State) and could well be criminally liable. The question is who is going press the criminal charges? The State is run by corrupt Democrats top to bottom so good luck finding anyone to prosecute her.

On the Federal level, I'll that there was a whole lot of people that signed off on how the Federal money was spend for disaster preparedness and in fact I think there are already people in the LA DHS under indictment for bribes in LA.

It would be a very useful tool in dispelling the garbage that Krugman spews forth each week in our local fishwrap.

If California can toss out the incompetent gray davis then the good people of Louisiana can do the same.

That will come with the Congressional hearings.

Keep an eye peeled for legislation cutting off certain causes of legal action, too. Othewise the court system will be swamped with cases against various government agencies and actors.

No immunity for the corporations though. E.g., the massive oil leak will be prosecuted ala Exxon Valdez.

They better cover for her. I think she's been taking her marching orders from the Democrat party in D.C. She may not be the brightest bulb on the string, but if they don't cover for her (assuming what I suspect is true), she will outsing the Fat Lady!

I think you can add all of the female Senators, regardless of party affiliation.

Even Kay Bailey Hutchinson (R-TX)??? I kind of doubt it.

I doubt Blanco, Nagin or any other LA state
official will be held personally *legally or
criminally* accountable....but i'll be one surprised ass citizen, if either one of those two will
ever be able to get themselves elected Dog Catcher
again..no matter *how* many of their Democrat Party
cronies rush down to circle their reputations around
Blanco & Nagin...meanwhile the Repubs are *in there*,
rescuing people, feeding, clothing, and housing the
victims. The Dims and all their lying cootie boy talking heads and Leftie rat "news reporters" can lie and screech their heads off, but the people on the ground...they know
who was in charge that left them in diseaesed flood waters
starving,...and who it was that came and helped them.
