Media Distortion by Time magazine
time magazine and free republic ^ | 10/1/2005 | staytrue/tgsltakoma

A while ago, Freeper tgsltakoma pinged me to a bit of stupidity on the Time magazine website where they displayed this photo.

(direct link here: http://www.time.com/time/covers/1101050425/gallery/8.html)

She and I laughed about how clueless they were when they captioned the photo as anti Coulter protesters when they are really anti Kerry protesters. (Notice the "Communists for Kerry" part of the sign.)

They have since wised up and put on their website the following: "Pro-G.O.P protesters at the Republican Convention in New York City last year

Correction: The original caption incorrectly stated that these protesters were blasting Coulter"

In the April 25, 2005 print issue of Time, they ran this photo.

Notice the cropping of the photo.

Oh yes, the MSM is unbiased. Anyone want to buy the Brooklyn bridge ?

I can't find your original article. If you have it bookmarked, perhaps you could link it here.

We all had a laugh about it just before the election. The Communists for Kerry were a real hoot and Time bought it, hell the newsies probably donated.

Awwe, that's priceless. These idiots in the MSM just don't realize how silly they look or that at least half of the country is on to their silly (and dishonorable) games. It's the Dan Rather method--if the facts and photos don't fit your bias on a story, manufacture it!

One would not expect TIME to be fair. TIME has "journalists".

Anyone know how to send this thread to Annie? I'm sure that she'd love to mention it more than once.

It's actually sometimes HARDER to make up the news than to report it.

They do have the liberation of not being constrained by facts, but sometimes in their biased frenzy the reporters just sound so foolish.

Of course, they know they have the cover of their fellow conspirators when they do look stupid.

Considering how clueless the MSM still acts where Free Republic and the Blogosphere are concerned, I'm surprised so many of them have even HEARD of Ann Coulter. Despite her books and appearances on FOX News, she's still more active on the Internet.

As for TIME, whatever respect I had for them ended when they did a cover story on Kanye West in the same week that he blasted President Bush's response to Hurricane Katrina. They called him "the most intelligent voice in hip-hop." God help the music industry if that is the case.

"the most intelligent voice in hip-hop."

LOL! That's like the old joke with the punchline-- "Gee, for a fat girl you don't sweat too much!"

Learn the lesson of Vietnam. Let the returning troops know who was stabbing them in the back at home and why.

For the present, be mindful of the "Peace Warriors" and do everything in your power to steer their lives' paths down roads of misery and failure.

Many, many years ago I read these "news magazines" and watched network TV news.

I was quite young and naive. I knew it was propaganda, to some degree, but I didn't know how much.

Then I grew older and wiser. I travelled all over the world. I finished many years of college. The internet appeared. I had an epiphany. I realized that it was all baloney.

Not only did I discontinue my subscriptions, but in doing so I instructed them never to contaminate my home again with those disgusting propaganda rags.

I never watched network TV news again either, except for an occasional accidental glimpse in passing.

Evidently, many misguided souls still believe the MSM drivel that is passed off as truth.

Some catch on faster than others. Some never catch on.
