The whole rivalry is about the Commander-in-Chief Trophy, awarded each year to the academy that wins the most inter-service football games.
Navy has won it the past two seasons, but Air Force has won it
22 times
to Navy's 11 since the trophy was created in 1972.
Just in case that wasn't enough for the swabs, here's a quote that should make you reach for the Maalox:
"We will see about the Commander-in-Chief Trophy," Mr. Van Winkle said. "That thing was here for seven years in a row...

Sorry boys, the CIC trophy is well, okay. Hell, you can have it. Keep it warm if you want.
What matters is BEATING ARMY!
But that involves tradition, which unlike everything else the USAF has, is unable to buy.

Navy can keep it warm one more year...that would make 3 in a row, which means...4 more before Navy can match the streak...and 11 more years before Navy can say it's held the trophy the same number of times as Air Force...not bad!
