For more than a year, former Marine Staff Sgt. Jimmy Massey has been telling anybody who will listen about the atrocities that he and other Marines committed in Iraq.
In scores of newspaper, magazine and broadcast stories, at a Canadian immigration hearing and in numerous speeches across the country, Massey has told how he and other Marines recklessly, sometimes intentionally, killed dozens of innocent Iraqi civilians.
Among his claims:
Marines fired on and killed peaceful Iraqi protesters.
Americans shot a 4-year-old Iraqi girl in the head.
A tractor-trailer was filled with the bodies of civilian men, women and children killed by American artillery.
Massey's claims have gained him celebrity. Last month, Massey's book, "Kill, Kill, Kill," was released in France. His allegations have been reported in nationwide publications such as Vanity Fair and USA Today, as well as numerous broadcast reports. Earlier this year, he joined the anti-war bus tour of Cindy Sheehan, and he's spoken at Cornell and Syracuse universities, among others.
News organizations worldwide published or broadcast Massey's claims without any corroboration and in most cases without investigation. Outside of the Marines, almost no one has seriously questioned whether Massey, a 12-year veteran who was honorably discharged, was telling the truth.
He wasn't.
Each of his claims is either demonstrably false or exaggerated - according to his fellow Marines, Massey's own admissions, and the five journalists who were embedded with Massey's unit, including a reporter and photographer from the Post-Dispatch and reporters from The Associated Press and The Wall Street Journal.

It's interesting that these people (both now and during Vietnam) must lie to reinforce their beliefs that the US military are murderers and the US goverment is an arrogant, ruthless demon that causes all the trouble in the world. Too bad the MSM, europeans, and many americans believe them without demanding any proof.
They would have been lynched during WWII.

Perhaps we should write "Letters-to-the-Editor" thanking them for exposing Mr. Massey's lies and reporting the truth. Encouragement to do the same with all other subjects might be the start of winning back readers....
This strategy seems to have worked well for John Kerry.
The truly loathsome vermin in all of this are the media who hand him a microphone in a time of world wide war. Each of these "journalists" need be publicly exposed at the same time as the simperer is.
Massey's Marine Corps service was plush until Iraq. I knew Airborne troopers, who served in the plush jobs of recruiters, and; none of them had to lie or falsify any applicant's qualifications for military service. The revealing fact is this man claims he knew the recruits he signed up for the Marines were not qualified. Now, was he taking anti depressants while a recruiter? What a tough job? SARCASM.
If he would bend rules then to make so called quotas as he will most likely claim some officer or senior NCO told him to do, his place is with Cindi and Kerry. When one starts to bend the rules to get a bonus or bonuses for the plush job of a Marine recruiter, while not having to be a REAL Marine 24/7, they can easily become a facilitator for lies and deceit.I am not accusing him of that. I suggest he tell he tell truth about his assignments during his 12 years. Did he complain back then as a recruiter? Seems like he liked the dream job, the uniform and the attention back then.
If he faslsified records to recruit Marines- how does anyone trust/believe him now?
I suggest this man played gung ho to get his recuiter job. After 7 years or so in the Marines,he got a prima donna soft duty recruiting job away from troops, sitting in an office, drinking beer and whatever at local bars on taxpayer's expense, he was asked to be a real Marine when a war started.
The man just could not cut the mustard in combat after being a recruiter with a bloated ego plus depression. He even goes to the SGM to get out of combat. Was he a real Marine or a wannabe?
What medal(s) does he have from the Marine Corps for his brief combat duty? Who held a gun to his head, and; said- kill innocent civilians as he claims he did.
Sorry to be so hard, but; me thinks he wants 100% VA disability for PTSD. Sadly, some VA shrink will grant it.

This is just an idea to make Massey debunk his own lies:
Investigate and charge him with genocide and separate acts of murder. Since these crimes are against the law in the US, then let's indict a self-proclaimed murderer. Want to see how quickly this POS turns on his own lies?
