Main Street Individual Fund, 2004 Election Cycle [Moderate Republicans (RINO's) Accepting Soros $]
Open Secrets ^ | Nov. 11, 2005 | Self

Posted on 11/11/2005 7:20:06 AM PST by conservativecorner

The Main Street Individual Fund (MSIF) is a New York-based group founded to help elect moderate Republican candidates. Among those candidates it supports in the 2004 elections is Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Pa), who is fending off a tough primary challenge from Rep. Pat Toomey. MSIF raises funds from individual donors and is affiliated with another 527, the Main Street Fund, which solicits contributions from corporations and unions. Both are connected to the Republican Main Street Partnership.

Affiliated Personnel:

Sarah Chamberlain Resnick, executive director Bob Duke, fund-raiser

Donors:

Dinakar Singh, Goldman Sachs, $100,000

George Soros, Soros Fund Management $50,000

Sidney V Weinberg Jr, Goldman Sachs $50,000

John C Whitehead Lower Manhattan Development Corp, $50,000

527 Activity:

Total Receipts: $471,600

Total Expenditures: $258,870

Note: This data is based on records released Monday, October 24, 2005.

These are the Main Street Republicans who just defeated the Alaska drilling provision. These people aren't Republicans, and we are fooling ourselves to believe otherwise. Any Republican who accepts money from Soros through a 527 is no friend of the Party or conservatives.

"These people aren't Republicans, and we are fooling ourselves to believe otherwise."

While this is a statement with which it would be easy to agree, careful thought and consideration raise some questions or issues that merit discussion.

I could have continued, but my keyboard was starting to melt. Freepers that find these comments appropriate should begin to follow our series of articles and taking The Pledge.

The more I watch Congress and the House, the more I believe liberals run as Republicans in order to get elected.

So, do we start a RINO recall? And institute a formal litmus test? Something's got to change.

Primary oppenent against Schwartz of Michigan is needed.

He is a rino in a republican district.

Same goes with Inglis of south carolina. Bad enough to have rino's from the nj or connectict killing us but to have them from red areas is the worst.

We also need a primary opponent against bass. The club for growth should target the leaders of the main street group.

I am so tired of the chamerlain's and jennifer stockholm's of the world

They are backstabbers. The so called moderate republicans are backstabbers. In Virginia they supported Potts.

There whole goal is to stay in the gop to hurt us. Chafee stayed so he could tie up stuff in committees. He hurts the gop more staying in it. Snowe is the same. She blocked tax cuts in the committee that would have passed on the senate floor. The hate conservatives too. When we won big in 94 and 04 they had fear. Their biggest nightmare is for conservatives to have a real majority in the senate with 60 seats or the house with 218. After 94 they panicked.

They get together in a group and see how they can defeat conservatives and conservative legislation. They poured in money against Toomey. They'd rather dems defeat a real conservative that could move the country right. The main street group is so bad they advocate fillabustering our nominees. Chafee would fillabuster to protect liberal values.

There is only one way to unseat these RINOs:

http://www.clubforgrowth.org/why.php

Giving us folk like Jeff Flake and Tom Coburn and nearly unseating Specter.

Inglis is one of the 22 republicans sending the letter refusing to vote for the budget to cut the defecit because of his love for anwr.

He is from south carolina and pulling this stunt. He makes Lindsay Graham out to be a conservative hero.
