I've always read and heard that Republicans get more campaign contributions from individual contributors and small donors than Democrats, and Democrats get more large contributions from corporations and fat cat donors than Republicans, but now I'm looking for sources.
I've searched Free Republic and the internet and so far haven't found anything definitive. Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance!
Jesse
For the RNC, as of October 31:
Itemized contributions (greater than $250): 31,122
Amount: $37,650,700.50
Unitemized contributions (less than $250): Unknown
Amount: $47,201,168.20
For the DNC:
Itemized: 12,581
Amount: $13,974,207.51
Unitemized: ?
Amount: $28,625,315.92
Average ITEMIZED Dem donor gives $1110.74
Average ITEMIZED GOP donor gives $1209.78
But once you throw in all the money that's given at less-than 250, the Republicans will have the smaller amount. Also, don't forget Soros and all the big dems giving millions and millions to 527s.

Thanks very much, guys. Are there any other good sources that break down party contributions by amount given?
