Congratulations! I must say, we have some awesome people here at FR! God bless you!

Is "The Cost of Abortion" readable for the slightly above-average person? It sounds very interesting.

Greetings! Yes! The Book, The Cost of abortion was written so lay-persons as well as academics can read it and comprehend the data. It has been quoted on the floor of the United Nations and prolifers have used it to argue (torment) their Senators who are pro-abortion. Some have used the information to attack the labor unions in their pro-abortion stance, whereas others have used the data to re-direct businesses to stop supporting abortion.

You can view an informative web page (and find out how to order) here:

Thank you again for your blessing and complements.

Thank you VOA, I appreciate the complements. If possible, please spread the word. (see my earlier comments). My college is choosing to do NO publicity and after sending the press releases to various media outlets, including CONSERVATIVE press services-No attention has been paid. I have a question: do we as conservatives like to complain, but then do NOTHING when the opportunity arises? Why is it that the Chomsky's and other lunatics of the academic world get publicity; but conservatives do not.

Yes, this is a challenge. But, you must admit, I am making a point!

Best wishes to all.

I hear you..We spend a lot of time on a Ward Churchill..

Outrage seems to linger longer and cause more commentary than good news and the success and recognition of admirable professors ..

Dear Meg33, thank you for understanding. Churchill is a mess! I did not wish to be perceived as a "whiner" myself; BUT, we do not support our OWN people! I have heard stories of other conservatives who have lost jobs and seen careers ended due to anti-conservative bias...yet, WE the conservatives do not lift a finger!

Thank you again and best wishes.

Congratulations and well done.

The dinners, and chairs, and praise and accolades would be lovely. But you have more than trophies, and plaques and letters of merit. You have touched the hearts and souls of your students with a knowledge and truth that they will carry with them their whole lives.

Trophies collect dust and are eventually put in a box in the attic, forgotten. Your real treasure, your students, will pass on your ideas far and wide. Your impact on their lives, and future lives, will be immense.

Congratulations for a great honor.

I pray for the day when a conservative professor is not unique or rare and news like this is common. Having two sons in college and a daughter about to graduate high school I know what is being taught and how.

It is refreshing that you can be public about your conservative and pro-life views. Hopefully the media and the scholastic community doesn't punish you for it but applauds you. Keep up the good work and encourage all of your colleagues to follow your path.

CONGRATULATIONS Professor Roberge!

What a wonderful breath of fresh air!!!! After spending an hour reading a thread about the disgraceful Ward Churchill, how refreshing to read about your award.

You ask about conservatives, and why we complain about the bias, yet do nothing to change it? That is a great question.

I think that is our nature as conservatives and/or Christians. We do things because they are "right" not for the pat on the back or for the recognition. I'm not saying those things are bad, it's just not what motivates us. We give because we want to, we stand on principles because it's what's right, not because of public opinion or fanfare. Of course this is just my opinion, but I suspect that is part of the explanation.

As for being ignored by the media? Hmmm... could they be worried about the ACLU? I don't know. I would send the release to Glenn Beck and Hannity too.

I agree with baseballmom... the lives you touch and influence will have an impact far greater than you will ever realize.

Thank you for what you do!

Thank you. I will send to Beck...but, HOW does one contact Hannity? Anyone have the FAX number or email address (especially to his producer). Yes, folks I have done interviews before (both radio and Tv). I also do speaking presentations (I have to...I speak in front of classes all the time! :)

If any one has any input, I would appreciate it. Best wishes.

Thank you jan. BUT, I believe if we support conservative professors...then MORE would be around!

For instance, as much as I am humbled and appreciate the congrats from all of you at Free Republic...how many of you have spread the word??

How about it? Have you thought of contacting conservative media, talk radio, or spread the word to other web sites? How about conservative Christian media like CBN News, AFA Radio, USA Radio, or Coral Ridge or Rev. Falwell?

Please do not think I am merely selfish over this issue. If this was a liberal love fest over a liberal professor, you KNOW every liberal media operation and forum in the country would be screaming priaise, speaking offers on TV and NPR as well as newspapers, etc.

OK, folks...want to make a change? You have got to will it, then make it happen!

Food for thought..then action!
Best wishes to all!

Dear SuziQ, True. but students can suggest to college presidents. Students can pressure dept chairs. Alumni can pressure college presidents and threaten to with hold funding support. Frankly, it bother me as to why conservatives do not use the MUSCLE that they really have. Don't give excuses...Give action (or would you rather have the liberals and socialists still rule?).

Food for thought. Best wishes.

Thankfully our daughter hasn't encountered any mind-numbed teachers. After graduation, she plans to attend a Catholic university that is NOT of the liberal persuasion.

Chomsky' convoluted thinking process is so far out on a tangent that if that tangent extended into infinity, it would return to itself proving the basis of Chomsky's logic is a circular argument fallacy. aka Lingtwistics!
