The Jesus Christ Dancers troupe was barred from performing at an annual holiday celebration in Chula Vista, 10News reported.
The group of 8-to-12-year-olds wore shirts with a cross and the words Jesus Christ and was scheduled to perform on Dec. 3. But, moments before they were set to go on stage, event organizers told them they did not want to convey a religious message in the show.
During the event, a rabbi lighted a menorah and a prayer dance was performed to Hawaiian gods.
Representatives of the dance troupe are talking with a lawyer, but h ave not filed a lawsuit or complaint against the city.
The City Attorney's Office is preparing an official response to the incident and plans to release it next week, according to The San Diego Union-Tribune.
The holiday festival is sponsored by the city's Parks and Recreation Department.
More nonsense from stupid officials. These incidents can almost always be traced to some wimpy official who is deathly afraid that someone will complain.
Pretty soon they're going to learn that the complaints will come whatever they do.
Silly idiots.
The vandals are running the government.
Here's what I think. The kids go ahead and do it. You make sure there are reporters and photographers there when whoever-it-is comes to ARREST THE KIDS. Will make a great front page in the newspaper.

"..to the Hawaiian gods"...roflmao
Move to Mexico, we even celebrate the Three Kings on Jan. 6th.
Things like this get me madder than bee-stung deer.
The title you created has been changed to the original published title. Please do not alter titles. Thanks.
One of the things that occurs to me in these many stories is that other religions can be represented...just not Christianity.
I've been thinking about that, and I think what may be happening here is that folks don't consider any religion other than Christianity to be a valid religion. Certainly a lot of Christians feel that way.
So, Judaism and the Hawaiian gods business don't really count, since they aren't really valid religions. Only Christianity qualifies for a ban because it's the only valid religion.
Or...maybe not...
Personally, I'd probably sue the sunny beaches, but the Jesus dancers probably won't have the cojones for that.
Your New York Times graphic is a hoot, though not that far off!
:-D
I'm usually opposed to "Jesus Christ Dancers" ("liturgical" dancers "expressing" the Eucharist), but this is a case of anti-Christian censorship bias.
I think Christianity is singled out because of the prevalence of "sensitivity training" in the workplace and "multicultural education" in the schools, which teach people to fear all that is considered "hegemonic" - white, Christian, or American- and because the media has convinced many of the dangerous influence of some "Religious Right," who wants to take over the country and subject everyone to discrimination-based torture.

Anti-Christian persecution is becoming widespread in the USA.
Hmmm. I guess Christians shouldn't be allowed to financially support the local government, either.
Golly, I don't think christians should pay taxes where they are not wanted...
A friend of mine attended a wedding at a weird sectarian church here in Houston awhile back, and her description of the Dance of Blessings had me rolling.
Apparently it's a lot like that "rhythmic gymnastics" crap that we see in the Olympics - the part where the gymnast has long ribbons in her hands - except that the Blessing Dancer was a not-built-like-a-gymnast woman in a polyester pantsuit.
