115 religious leaders were arrested in front of the Cannon House Office Building while kneeling in prayer to protest the immoral budget and tax agenda which slashes spending on the poor to finance tax breaks for the rich. Led by Jim Wallis of Call to Renewal, national faith leaders, clergy and faith-based providers of services to the poor held a press conference.

Following the press conference the leaders kneeled in prayer blocking the entrance to the Cannon House Office Building on the corner of Independence and New Jersey Avenues. The Capitol Police began arresting the participants after warning them three times to move from the entrance. The participants were escorted one at a time into one of two Metro buses transported to a Capitol Police warehouse facility at 67 K St., SW (South Capitol and K Street) where they were processed and released after paying a fine.

Please keep an eye on this group -- many MANY denominations are getting infiltrated by this socialist/marxist ideology and the great majority of churchgoers are unaware of it. Search sojo.net for connections with your denomination and its leadership figures. I know the Evangelical Covenant denomination is into this bigtime, but there is no way that a lot of the people at the church I used to attend would have supported this nonsense.

Jim Wawallis was a "leader" of the progressive churches antiwar message during the 80s(no nukes in Europe; no contras). More interesting is that it was during this time that safe havens for illegal immigrants(especially Salvadorians)was being pursued by the liberals. Liberal cities(like Portland, Or.) lapped it up.

What gets me is they don't seem to have as much drive to ask their own people to go out and do the grunt work working with the poor one on one (sure, some do it, but that's not the point)! They just want the government to make it law. Is that what Christianity is about? This is more like the zealot lifestyle that Christ called Simon out of.

yup. What gets me is the Evangelical Covenant. They baited and switched us when we joined, making us think they are much more conservative than they are. In fact, I think many of the pastors in small towns don't realize what is happening, they've been duped by the Covenant into believing that dissention is wrong... disunity is wrong. Unity at all costs, pretty much. Many will leave when the Covenant decides homosexuality is ok, but by that time the horse is out of the barn. This low view of Scripture and focus on something OTHER than our job of teaching the truth is where it begins.(e.g. social justice, social action - not that we should never seek those things, but in a much more organic one on one way, as a result of knowing the truth.

Someone really needs to start a Sojourners/social(ist) gospel/Jim Wallis ping list. I really think more people need to be made aware of them, and their lies. I keep up with this stuff and I didn't know until recently, so I doubt many people at my old church would have realized what they are supporting in the name of 'unity.'

1 - Question the validity of the vote - done by pre-arranged phone banks in St Louis calling democratic voters to ask if they had mistakenly voted for Buchanan

5 - Obfuscate, keep counting..
