'It's a shame that one officer conducted himself in such an inappropriate and disorderly manner. I never made any sort of racial slurs, let alone made any comments about the officer being Mexican, as a Mexican myself.'
Date of birth (location)

It's now more popular to be a 'mexican' than an American.

let alone made any comments about the officer being Mexican, as a Mexican myselfBeat me to it. I was thinking that if she and the cop were both Mexican than maybe Michuacan would be the place for them to be.
San Antonio is too nice to just let the "Mexicans" turn it into another Old Laredo or Tijuana. Americans, OTH, may be able to keep the place up and enjoy it a little instead of sending it straight to $#!+hole, third world status.
But, you beat me to it...

about the officer being Mexican, as a Mexican myself My mother was Hispanic, an immigrant living in Sherman, Texas back in 1963. My father was an Anglo, who took off when he found out she was pregnant. So, an immigrant mother, and an Anglo father - that makes me...well, I'll be blunt. I'm an American. Not Mexican-American, not Hispanic-American. A non-hyphenated American, plain and simple. These people who make it a point of pride to have a hyphen in front of the word American really tick me off.

Is it any worse than my mom referring to herself as "Italian" (despite being born in Jersey City) or my dad referring to himself as "Polish" (born in Newark)?
Geez, give it a rest. When Mayor Daley referred to himself as "Irish" you folks probably didn't give him a hard time.
