Hmmm - wonder if he wore this wire to any classified discussions or meetings? That would seem to present a problem in the world outside of Congress - don't know if they make special rules inside congress, but I do remember when Harry Reid played his little stunt and called for a closed session of the Senate they had to go in and so a sweep to clear out cell phones, pagers, etc. items that cannot be in a classified meeting.
If Cunningham was wired up, then it's quite possible that Abramoff was also wired up at some point. Now, if I was a congresscritter with a corrupt bent, and, if I had talked to either one of them since the summer, I would be sweating bullets.
So this Congressman was indicted for taking bribes, and then was bribed by the Feds in order to parlay a reduced sentence..I guess that's how it works now.
The sad part is that Prisoner Cunningham was not well liked in Democrat circles, meaning that those who spoke into his lapel button were probably Republicans. Not to say that the guilty bastards don't deserve to have the book thrown at them.

CEO's, stock traders and brokers, and others have been found guilty of crimes and sent to prison, but I have yet to see a politician that has committed a crime go to jail and I will venture here that whom ever in congress or senate that is found to be guilty of a crime will not, repeat, will not go to jail or behind any bars. There will always be a DEAL made of some kind.
Another thing that I think the political folks in Washington, D.C. believe is that the river flow of dollars will and can not ever have an end to it. I say this because of the way they are always looking for a way to spent money and not any way to give back or take less money away from the U.S. citizens.
