Arab Cartoons Trash 9/11, Holocaust

Muslims all over the world are outraged over a series of cartoons that have appeared in European newspapers in recent months that feature the prophet Mohammed in ways that suggest he condones terrorism.

Al Jazeera reports, for instance:

"Up to 300 Indonesian Muslims went on a rampage in the lobby of a building housing the Danish embassy in Jakarta on Friday. Shouting 'Allahu Akbar' [God is Greatest], they smashed lamps with bamboo sticks, threw chairs, lobbed rotten eggs and tomatoes and tore up a Danish flag."

These same outraged folks, however, have yet to express a peep of protest over cartoons that routinely appear in the Arab press, which poke fun at the 9/11 attacks and the Holocaust.


Mideast media watchdog Tom Gross has collected on his Web site a few of the cartoons that keep some of these sensitive souls in stitches.

One knee-slapper that ran Qatar's Al-Watan newspaper nine months after the 9/11 attacks shows former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon watching as an Israeli plane crashes into the World Trade Center. The Arabic words alongside the Twin Towers are "The Peace."

Yes indeed. If my memory doesn't fail me, I think that I remember seeing lots of images of Arabs partying in the street on 9/11, chanting "God is Good."

Cameramen were threatened to turn off their live videos by Yassir That's My Baby, if I recall.

Arabs in various places in the U.S. also were seen celebrating, but not nearly the celebrations that were going on in their Mosques, I'll bet.

Yep, they can actually have school books to teach their children depicting Jews as monkeys and pigs but we are commanded to practice "tolerance." Well scr#$ that!

While I can understand why Muslims would be offended by these cartoons, I think that their reaction is completely hypocritcal and overblown. Does the publication of these admittedly inflammatory and disrespectful cartoons justify Muslim demands that the freedom of the press be limited and Muslim threats of suicide attacks? The bottom line is that no matter what Western societies do, we will always be infidels and we will never be good enough for Muslims. We can't give into their tantrums.

It's not just their concern over the Prophet's picture (which they think should be prohibited), the Indonesian Moslems are exhibiting the worst sort of racial hate. They don't like white folks ~ period!

But don't you understand? That is DIFFERENT.

(A) In some muslims eyes, the Holocaust didn't happen
(B) Islamists have a supremacist belief system. They are above everyone else under the law. Jews and Christians are second tier, with everyone else below them. There are different charges for offenses committed by non-muslims against muslims and for those committed by muslims against non-muslims.
