I was in the military with Clinton in Charge, and I didn't trust the republicans to win in 2K and I thought gore might win. I was young, I was idealistic, and I screwed up, so I KNEW I couldn't survive as a Marine if one more wishy washy stupid, arrogant, military abusing, do nothing, S on the military democrat was in charge.

So I left the military. However I have this to say. I HATED how Clinton treated the Military prior to, and while I was in, but I made the wrong choice, cuz my hatred of him, in effect tainted the rest of my life.

It is WRONG for us republicans to focus on the (even if it is justifiable in SOME ways) hatred of Clinton. We need to not do such a thing, we need to speak openly about who we are, what we think and how we feel, cuz even the momentary actions on our part that use another's failure, or our own irrational passions will only feed those we disagree with, if we focus on anger. We are idealists, we are people with hope, we cannot define ourselves as the people who "idealize" the pain of others or "hope" for the failure of our opponents. We need to focus on the grandeur of human accomplishment.

We are not ONLY Americans, because America isn't JUST about a geographical area in the western hemisphere, we are a people born and raised on the insight of John Locke, and Thomas Jefferson, we are the staging point of a global opportunity to finally understand that no matter what god you love, no matter what nation you serve, you are entitled to all the opportunities of every other man (or woman, even though "man" is actually applicable to "women" cuz "man" in this sense means "humanity") on the planet.

Praise you fools, praise you who are wise, praise you who are ignorant, and praise you who learn.

Praise all mankind, and DAMN! you who deny mankind their rights.

RE: a not-so-modest proposal concerning hillary clinton

Dear Concerned Americans,

Hillary Clinton's revisionist tome notwithstanding, 'living history' begets a certain symmetry. It is in that light that I make this not-so-modest proposal on this day, exactly 64 years after the attack on Pearl Harbor.

The context of our concern today--regardless of political affiliation--is Iraq and The War on Terror, but the larger fear is that our democracy may not survive.

We have the requisite machines, power and know-how to defeat the enemy in Iraq and elsewhere, but do we have the will?

In particular, do we have the will to identify and defeat the enemy in our midst?

Answerable to no one, heir apparent in her own mind, self-serving in the extreme, Hillary Clinton incarnates this insidious new threat to our survival.

What we decide to do about Missus Clinton will tell us much about what awaits us in these perilous new times.
