To tell you the truth, I didn't think any kind of stem cell could cure an organic, whole-brain disease. I would presume that if this process works on humans, it would benefit in the early stages or stop further progression, let's hope. And killing babies for their parts is not the way, Ron Reagan, Jr., we mortal humans can't say who gets to live and who dies and whose life is more important, all life begins at conception and we have no right to experiment on children.

This is outrageous to suggest it isn't necessary to tear apart human fetuses to get stem cells.

Laura Ingraham had a guy on Thursday or Friday that stated there are 65 different programs where adult stem cells were being used currently to help people with ailments. There are zero with embryonic stem cells.
This individual also stated that there is a problem with embryonic stem cells in that they seem to case tumors. He stated that he wasn't sure the tumor problem could be overcome, but acknowledged that it might.
He then commented that if there were truly a raging promise of success with embryonic stem cells, you wouldn't be able to stop corporations from plunging into the field. Presently none are doing so. So much for all the hype and promise.

In a nutshell:
Stem-cell research has been ongoing around the world for more than 20 years. At the close of 2005 there had been at least 65 treatments developed using Adult Stem Cells with many more in the works and great promise for the future. Conversely, at the close of 2005 there had been ZERO treatments developed using Embryonic Stem Cells.
According to http://www.stemcellresearch.org, Embryonic stem cells pose an unusual risk for genetic changes and tumor formation, with the risk increasing the longer the cells are grown, thus making their therapeutic use even more speculative and problematic.
