Murfreesboro, Tenn. -- Former Vice President Al Gore said Monday he's not planning to run for president in 2008 but hasn't ruled out a future in politics.
"I'm enjoying what I'm doing," Gore told an audience at Middle Tennessee State University, where he gave a lecture on global warming.
"I'm not planning to be a candidate again. I haven't reached a stage in my life where I'm willing to say I will never consider something like this. But I'm not saying that to be coy; I'm just saying that to be honest that I haven't reached that point."
Gore, a Democrat, in 2000 lost to President Bush

Gore is waiting to be asked to run. He is hoping for a grassroots movement that will 'draft' him.
Keep an eye on Moveon.org for future developments.

This is very bad. Gore was the one candidate who met the following criteria -
1. He was going to appeal to the barking moonbat crowd - the same function fulfilled by Howard Dean. They'd regard it as revenge if he became President, and will help him to that end.
2. He was going to appeal to the "want to appear sane, but still barking moonbats" crowd - these people went for John Kerry. They actually believe Al Gore having been Vice President and a Senator lends him some prestige.
3. He was going to appeal to the Democrat leadership. Howard Dean included.
4. He was going to be killed by any sensible Republican. Which is most important.
It's difficult to imagine another Democrat candidate who fills all these catagories quite so neatly.
Regards, Ivan

Although it did take me 3 years to bring my GPA to a good level after my freshman year.
Lord, you sound like me!! About a year and a half before I graduated, I was running a 3.25 GPA and I sat down with my advisor to see what I would have to do to graduate cum laude (took a 3.5 GPA). Basically, I had to ace every class I took to the end of my undergrad career. It was tough, but I managed to pull it off. One of the things I wanted most was to give my parents the gift of having their third child graduate from college (since neither of them had the opportunity) and graduate with honors.
Good stuff!! And, congratulations on not being like Albert. We need more like you and fewer like him!

This isn't news. To me, he's not newsworthy at all. He's an ex-vice president and failed presidential candidate.
