McGreevey pens tell-all, but who all will read it? (yawn--another Pay-Me-I'm-a-Victim sob story)
STAR LEDGER ^ | Wednesday, March 29, 2006 | JOSH MARGOLIN AND JEFF WHELAN

He calls it "The Confession."

Former Gov. James E. McGreevey's tell-all memoir about his secret life as a closeted gay politician is scheduled for release Sept. 19...........will span the 48-year-old McGreevey's life......to his rise and fall in politics and the aftermath of his nationally televised "I am a gay American" speech"..........

The book will include details about McGreevey's gay sex life and his efforts to keep his homosexuality hidden through two marriages and a political career that took him from Woodbridge Town Hall to the Statehouse.....in August 2004 with his televised confession that he'd had an adulterous affair with a man....identified as Golan Cipel, his former homeland security adviser.

Booksellers contacted yesterday said it was hard to predict demand for the book. Logan Fox, owner of Micawber Books in Princeton, said one thing is certain: he will not be pre-ordering the 500 copies that he stocks for a Harry Potter release. "Maybe 15 or 20," he said. While the popular J.K. Rowling series is a sure thing for booksellers, anything else -- even former President Bill Clinton's memoir -- is dicey. "I have no clue as to whether this book will be of tremendous interest or mediocre indifference. If you ask me if I'm going to sell 10 or sell 100, my answer is I don't know," Fox said. "With the Bill Clinton bio, we sold 20 or 25 in the first couple of days and then three in the next nine months."

Lori Buzby, owner of the Califon Book Shop in Califon, said interest in McGreevey's story may already have waned. "It's the kind of thing where, I think, we heard most of what happened. I can't see that there would be a huge interest and political memoirs don't do too well -- in my store............." she said.

This sucker McSeedy actually thinks people will believe he's a "victim" after all the depraved and perhaps illegal machinations he reduced himself to doing while in elective office. The list of federal crimes (not to mention crimes against the state) committed by ex-Gov Jim McGreevey, together with his Big Money Backer Charles Kushner (now incarcerated for political and business fraud), and their handyman, Golan Cipel (who absconded to escape US justice), would fill an encyclopedia of political crime waves.

It was all downhill from here when Jimbo and Golan met when then-Mayor Jimmy went on a politicans' obeisance tour to Israel to scrounge for votes and money. Even better than the tour, Jimbo brought Golan home as a vote-buying souvenir:

This pic of McGreevey meeting Golan Cipel in Israel occured just two weeks after McG proposed marriage to his now-ex Dina Matos. Nice guy. McG brought Cipel back to NJ and set him up in an apartment not far from his Mayoral office.

Fast-forward to August 12, 2004. Now-Governor McGreevey stunned a nationwide television audience when he announced he was gay and would resign from office. The Media quickly identified Golan Cipel as McGreevey's lovebug. McGreevey made himself into a victim. Golan was no prize either, and tried to blackmail the State of NJ into paying him big bucks to disappear. Cipel then fled to Israel to avoid prosecution, and tried to portray himself as someone who had been sexually harassed by Governor McGreevey. Law enforcement sources then told the media that the FBI was investigating Cipel's blackmail efforts. At first, attorneys for Cipel were alleged to have demanded millions of dollars from McGreevey in exchange for his not filing a sexual harassment lawsuit.

Then, just hours before McGreevey called his I am A Gay American press conference, Cipel’s demands allegedly included help by the Governor in allowing Touro College to build a campus in New Jersey. Among the members of the Board of this medical institute are Charles Kushner, with Robert Torricelli having been hired by the College to lobby on their behalf. Only 6 days after Governor McGreevey’s stunning announcement, Charles Kushner pleaded guilty to the campaign finance violations and blackmail charges involving sending his sister a videotape Kushner made of her husband and a prostitute. State charges should be mounted with regard to official acts taken by then-Gov McGreevey in the hiring and lying about Golan Cipel.

This guy is a criminal not a victim. Appointing his foriegn national homo lover to his state's Homeland Security job is an example of why the Dems can't be trusted.

I don't see why the Repubs don't exploit this egregious violation of the public trust.

Tell McGreevey to stick with his buttplug and not his pen.

The book will include details about McGreevey's gay sex life

I wish to read the details of this "Gay-American's" homosexual nightmare as much as I wish to watch liposuction procedure on the Discovery channel.

Of course he's a criminal---but the libs MO is to assume the position of "victim" to garner sympathy whenever they get caught with their pants down.

Hey, the gay American is getting ready for a comeback. He's tan, he's rested and he's single. Above all he'll be running in New Jersey where they have the dumbest voters and most corrupt pols in America. Why can't a proud gay American win back his power?
