LOL! Yeah, that's the powerful body that threatened Hussein for ten years then refused to enforce it's own resolutions.

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - The five U.N. Security Council permanent members reached agreement on Wednesday on how to curb Iran's nuclear ambitions after concessions were made to Russia and China, Britain announced.
"Our colleagues in the P-5 (permanent five) have reached an agreement on a text," Britain's U.N. Ambassador Emyr Jones Parry told reporters. The five are the United States, Britain, France, Russia and China.
The full 15-member council considers the issue later on Wednesday and could formally approve the statement, hours before ministers of the five powers and Germany meet in Berlin.

Thnx for the alert. Oil stocks traders don't seem to know how to react to this news yet. Oil stocks went down first and then bounced back up. I think this could cause a dip in the price of crude oil because this makes a diplomatic solution somewhat more likely.

Whooee - if the UN is a "powerful body" then I'm Mr. Universe. Nevertheless, it's good to see a consensus even if I tend to doubt Ahmadinejad is trembling in his Birkenstocks.

Well, the Iranians are readying their response:
"Iran is to launch a massive joint naval wargame titled "Holy Prophet (PBUH)", beginning on March 31 with shooting of a Shahab II Missile into the air with the message of "Peace and Friendship" for the regional countries, Persian Gulf, and Sea of Oman littoral states..."

Amazing they can agree on a statement but really it means little. Iran will ignore it and then the "POWERFUL BODY" will really FLEX it's muscles, with RESOLUTION after RESOLUTION after RESOLUTION.............ad infinitum!
