NASCAR yesterday strongly objected to a planned series of news reports that targets race fans as potential sources of harassment of Muslim-Americans.
As part of a broad story about American attitudes toward Islam, NBC newsmagazine "Dateline" is placing Muslim and Arab-American volunteers in a variety of public places, including NASCAR races, and filming their experiences in an attempt to record discrimination or harassment.

I wonder when date line is going to track some white dude with cameras as he walks through certain sections of major cities at about 2:00AM each morning?
Wonder if they would pick up and hints of racist actions or worlds?
How about a white guy with a black chick going to select bars in the big cities?

(I hope the NASCAR fans treat all apparently Muslim patrons at coming events like visiting royalty - just for giggles.) You bet. Pass the pork rinds and Budweiser over to those hairy fellows.

Seems to me,Dateline has exposed itself to some possible litigation.Nascar should sue them and expose them as they are.

Here's how to get em: Simply laughingly (and loudly) proclaim to any (alleged) Muslim: "I bet you work for NBC, doncha?!?! Bwahahahahaha!"

I remember 20/20 or 60 Minutes... heck, maybe even Dateline (it's been 2 or 3 years) going through the campground at a NASCAR race and catching a few Jr. fans that were pretty well toasted and got them to spout off about blacks. They then had Dale Jr. on and asked him his reaction to the racism on display by his fans.

When a group has called for our extermination I see no problem in treating ALL of them with extreme caution and suspect.
We seem to be afraid of being labeled as racists, bigots etc when it is common sense to be suspect of any muslime.
How about NBC getting Senator Bird to march around a NBA basketball court in full KKK dress? Would the blacks be called racist bigots for hating that? HMMMMMMMM! No only white people are racists.

NASCAR is a money pit for shakedowns ever since they caved to NAACP/Rainbow a few years ago. Everyone wants their piece of the "they're bigots" pie now. NASCARS fault.
To: Herodian
Very good Herodian and it deserves to be repeated!
"Here is what we know is fact. Muslims have injured and killed NASCAR fans in the United States via terrorism. NASCAR fans have never injured or killed Muslims in the United States via terrorism. So why build a show around the possible distaste for Muslim terrorists by NASCAR fans? This shows that the main stream media still does not understand what happened on 9/11. It is extremist religious fanaticism coming from the Islamic world not Daytona which is the problem. "

Some Redneck with a beeper cam should dress up like
a Muslim, and apply for a top "suit" or
announcer job at NBC. Record, all
the crap you get and post it on the internet!
That would be perfect...gotta be some
technogeeks who would pull this off.

NASCAR, altho red-neck hicks, can probably buy more high buck lawyers than NBC has ever seen. Hope they sue the livin sh*t out of Dateline and the network.
Also they should publicly alert the people watching the races AND especially their sponsors of NBC's actions, perferably at the start of each and every race!

I'll be sure to stay FAR away from I-35W I figured out from last year why so many people got there early but still parked so far from the track.
Walk the extra distance to the track or wait 2 hrs just to leave parking lot to get to the road that then leaves the track when its all over.
We'll be pulling for A.B.T. --- Anyone But Tony!

Or else hand out a flyer along with an American flag exposing them.Quite a few would be upset about NBC trying to hijack their favorite pastime.Watching their ratings hit rock bottom would make my day! There has to be something in their contract that would breach their agreement allowing NASCAR to dump them. They would have no problem finding a network more friendly to them.

It seems that Dateline NBC is more likely vainly attempting to
create so-called anti-Muslim bias and then say 'ha ha we told you so', rather than actually report on any news.
And since when is it the medias function to run social experiments (biased at that) instead of actually reporting the news, and without bias? (rhetorical, never mind...)
To: fortunecookie
in order to stay true to form (and reality) PMSNBC should have had the muslim
guy blow up.
I guess NBC didn't have enough workplace diversity to send out real Muslims.
what a bunch of jackass pseudo-journalist.

NASCAR should send some evangelical Christians to apply for job at NBC to see what happens.

Gee I know, lets secretly place a conservative in the NBC newsroom, and watch the liberals go balistic with their hatred. Now there would be some real foaming at the mouth hate.
Remeber some time back when they left the microphone on and were overheard plotting and wishing the economy would take a dump?
