Jackson (MS.) Business Raided By Immigration Agents
WLBT 3 ^ | 4-19-06 | By Marsha Thompson

Posted on 04/20/2006 4:15:15 AM PDT by WKB

Federal agents raided a west Jackson business Wednesday morning. It was part of a nationwide crackdown on suspected illegal immigrants. While politicians continue to debate immigration reform, so-called "ICE" agents launched the crackdown on undocumented workers. Surprise raids were carried out at a number of 'IFCO' businesses. One bust was right here in Jackson.

The well-organized early morning crackdown by "ICE" agents took place in several locations. Among them, Houston, Texas, Albany, New York, Portland, Oregon and Jackson, Mississippi.

Agents arrested suspected illegal immigrants working for 'IFCO Systems' based in Houston, Texas.

One man whose brother was taken into custody had said, "This thing is not no good man. We need work."

Agents checked paperwork and loaded suspected illegal immigrants onto a Department of Homeland Security bus.

The very same scene unfolded at the company's IFCO Systems Mississippi warehouse. The business is located at the west Jackson Industrial park off Boling Street.

A federal customs agent in New Orleans told WLBT News the raid was part of an on-going "ICE" work-site investigation. He refused to elaborate on how many people were detained or arrested and so did the general manager at Jackson's IFCO plant. The massive warehouse was vacant... no one was around. Upstairs in an IFCO office, we asked the manager, Brian Lorenz, how many people were busted. He had no comment.

A hand full of arrest warrants were still on Lorenz's desk. Federal agents aren't saying much about the raids, but government officials do say indictments are expected against IFCO executives who are accused of hiring the undocumented workers.

WLBT was unable to contact IFCO systems headquarters in Houston for comment.

Thursday, "ICE" officials plan to unveil what it calls a "comprehensive immigration enforcement strategy for the nation's interior."

Well, there's one-in-a-row for ICE. Nice going, fellas. Now, how about doing this 24 x 7 x 365?

Just a few immigration stories for those who demand action to say, "not good enough" or "this is just PR". Enjoy. :-)

Notice how most of these stories are from local sources. The national sources aren't going to publicize this now because the know it helps Republicans with their base. Ah but we are all too smart for that. Right.

Sounds like a photo op, a dog and pony show to show us that the POTUS cares. this will last for 30 seconds and take in about as miniscule an amount of illegals as is possible to not upset either the 'NEW HISPANIC VOTER BASE' applecart or the 'BUSINESS NEEDS CHEAP LABOR' applecart.

ARREST AND DEPORT ALL ILLEGALS NOW1

I will mow my own lawn thank you!

As I understand it, IFFCO makes and repairs shipping pallets. The illegals repair the pallets for $.25 each.

Pretty much proves congress need do nothing. The executive branch just needs to enforce existing law and SEAL THE BORDER. When the risk for hiring an illegal goes up, the employers will stop employing them and the invasion will stop.

Next, what to do with 12-20 Million unemployed illegals?

Until such time that the owners of the companies who hire these illegals are brought to trial, found guilty (if they are such), have the word "PEDOPHILE" tattoed on their forehead and tossed into General Population, there will be no reduction in illegal alien slave trade.

One MORE time from the ol' songbook, corporatism is NOT conservatism.

They should send a paddy wagon to my neighborhood. I suspect that every lawn and garden company is using illegals.

Of course, and as we type, I bet the employers are already on the blower with their Congressional whores complaining about how they can't find legal employees willing to work 90 hours a week at $4.00 an hour, without any benefits.

As I understand it the company is located in several states,I truly hope this isn't a one time use them as an example and shut us up.

ICE should have been doing this all along and maybe we wouldn't be in this bad of a mess. They waited till this entire issue has become a crisis (the illlegals in your face demonstrating)and the illegals now have a movement and it isn't pretty, they even have their own version of ACLU to defend all of their illegal actions.

This entire thing is out of control and with Nov coming up they cannot afford to have this a firestorm and antagonize us.

They need to get back in control and immediately, they need to continue this attack on companies they have been given tons of names of companies who hire these criminals illegally!

They need to get the false documented people who are collecting medicaid and all the taxpayer funded welfare benefits and get them off it! As someone said we are not their Pinata or cash cow.
