MY IDEA TO SOLVE ENERGY PROBLEM
4/2306 | Walkingfeather

This is what needs to happen. The government should sponsor a "americal idol of innovation" contest, that is broadcast nation wide and has a $100,000,000. prize for anyone that can create a energy solution that does the following: (please feel free to add to the list)

Creates fuel that runs in existing cars without retro fit.

Creates a solution from an overwhelming abundant resource that does not require a company to produce.

Or Can be created at home with less than $100.00 of parts

Is clean burning,

Can be posted on the internet for people to test and report in a forum.

That the contest is judged by NO ONE from the oil industry.

Please fill in some ideas.....

Make it a national contest like american idol where teams of people present their solutions and post them on a web site that everyone can try. Have absolutely no oil dependent people on the judgement panel and broad cast it.

I like it. I like it even better if I can win it.

Interesting idea. Maybe for episode #2, we can see who can design the Green Lantern's ring...

Such a device / solution would be worth far more than the prize money you suggest. Therefore, your basic premise, of a prize, isn't a great motivating factor since the prize is already out there.

Seems to me, given that the cost of fuel in Europe is 3 to 4 times what it is here, that they would have solved this problem a long time ago.

I'm working on a taxicab that runs on the driver's B.O.

Since nukes still are out of favor, and solar satellites are way too expensive, the best solution is to move the metals industry into outer space.

If you are willing to make some small modifications you can run a diesel engine on vegetable oil. Some farmers in the Netherlands do it using rape seed but beans would work well also. You can make biodiesel fairly easily also but that takes more steps, time, money, etc.

How would the fed tax it then? If it isn't taxed, it's illegal.

Give the money to the lying greedy media if they'll let us drill for oil and build nuclear plants?

I don't know how to make a game out of it, but there probably is a way...

Europe is based on public transportation they discourage the use of personal vehicles to the point they want to tax people by the mile.

The high price in Europe is because of high taxes. Somewhat over half the price of fuel in the US (I live in California) is due to taxes.

Harvesting human flatulence. An excellent way to keep the air fresh, provide another source of energy, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and enable people to eat cabbage and beans without feeling guilty about it.

Go to heck!

I'm enjoying the rise in oil & gas stock prices, thank you very much!

I suggest that we have Congress repeal those oppressive laws of thermodynamics.

I think either Oregon or Washington (state) want to do the same thing.

"they want to tax people by the mile"

So does Oregon.

Yeah of course it would but the idea would be to generate as many plausible ideas as possible and encourage thinkers that are outside the energy field to work on the problem. The more you become an expert in a certain area, the larger the blind spots are you have in terms of your beliefs. Innovation happens at the fringe not the massive institutions like corporations.
