I fear that every medium starts out as a great liberation for free thought, and then soon becomes the very tool of establishment. Printing press, news casts, and - I fear - the internet. How long before web-based news is monopolized? Maybe this will calm your fears. Every other medium has required huge capital investment to have any serious reach. Printing presses, distribution systems, FCC licenses, TV studios, on-air "talent", big overhead, etc.
On the Internet anyone can publish worldwide for basically zero cost, and with limitless choice consumers can no longer be as easily herded into liberal-controlled brainwashing stations.
The thing to fear with the Internet is government censorship, a la china

Could CALSTARS ( California teachers ) and/or CALPERS thru Yucaipa be buying up old media friends to support the prices artificially ?
The hundreds of millions flowing from California retirement funds come courtesy of California Treasurer Phil Angelides...

Ron Burkle and Bill Clinton would be able to financially help Pinch and friends at the old media.
This would only be a temporary fix for a short time.

Newspaper circulation fell 2.6 percent in the six-month period ending in March, according to data released Monday, as the industry continued to struggle with competition from other media outlets and the Internet. An honest and complete report would have noted that the industry also continues to struggle with the truth. I give the Internet 1.5 points and The Truth (or rather the lack of it) 1.1 points. Just another few hundred thousand people deciding they have had enough.

Let's just see how effectively McCain/Feingold CFR works when I post this September, October, and early November within 60 days of the election on Canadian websites from a server in Hong Kong.....

We post our own corrections and/or we get corrected by others.
The old media rarely posts a correction and always is in denial.

I cancelled my scrip to Pravda West, the St. Pete Slimes, about 10 years ago. Why should I feed the hand that bites me?
I get most of my news from FR and I'm the most informed person I know, by golly.

"On the Internet anyone can publish worldwide for basically zero cost," To publish is one thing - but can you create professional graphics, code real applications (besides HTML), and hire all of the standard business machinery to support a major website?
We are lucky that Jim Robinson did.... but most people don't have that ability.
I agree on the China-threat. Hillary is out for Matt Drudge's neck, I know that for a fact.

Sounds like a plan. Set up an off shore non profit and use servers out country.

Is it amazing how some Republicans/conservatives continue to fund their enemies by subscribing or buying left wing dinosaur fish wraps.

Hi, Gramps.......it's not so amazing when you figure out that sports scores, brainless funnies and wifey's coupon-cutting trumps feeding the enemy.
