U.S. tipping Mexico to Minuteman patrols (telling the Mexican government)
Daily Bulletin ^ | 5/9/2006 | Sara A Carter

Posted on 05/09/2006 6:21:25 AM PDT by IrishMike

While Minuteman civilian patrols are keeping an eye out for illegal border crossers, the U.S. Border Patrol is keeping an eye out for Minutemen -- and telling the Mexican government where they are. According to three documents on the Mexican Secretary of Foreign Relations Web site, the U.S. Border Patrol is to notify the Mexican government as to the location of Minutemen and other civilian border patrol groups when they participate in apprehending illegal immigrants -- and if and when violence is used against border crossers.

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman confirmed the notification process, describing it as a standard procedure meant to reassure the Mexican government that migrants' rights are being observed.

"It's not a secret where the Minuteman volunteers are going to be," Mario Martinez said Monday.

"This ... simply makes two basic statements -- that we will not allow any lawlessness of any type, and that if an alien is encountered by a Minuteman or arrested by the Minuteman, then we will allow that government to interview the person."

Minuteman members were not so sanguine about the arrangement, however, saying that reporting their location to Mexican officials nullifies their effectiveness along the border and could endanger their lives.

"Now we know why it seemed like Mexican officials knew where we were all the time," said Chris Simcox, founder of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. "It's unbelievable that our own government agency is sending intelligence to another country. They are sending intelligence to a nation where corruption runs rampant, and that could be getting into the hands of criminal cartels.

"They just basically endangered the lives of American people."

All I needed to do was read the links and information in the previous threads.
Well, since I don't know which previous threads it is that you're talking about I have no way of knowing where you got your information. Being a little more concise would help.
From what I can see it looks like you're getting your apples and oranges crossed and are trying damned hard to convince me they're bananas.
As to your "Try doing a subject search under Darfur." goes, here are the results...Darfur. Or did you intend an "outside of FR" search? Not too many keywords in "Darfur", are there.
Only Bush Asks Congress For Emergency Darfur Aid has anything to do with money.
Nothing to support what you claim there either. A whole bunch of looking and no responding. Tells me something anyway.

...inmigrantes ilegales...
Even the Mexican papers call them "illegal" immigrants. Somebody needs to go brush them up on PC protocol.

I'm sure you don't want to dig too far. I mean when your guy is nice a cozy with Jackson-Lee and Rangle...hell, even Obama supported this. We pi$$ed away two BILLION dollars to Darfur in two years...I just can't figure out what's in it for Tancredo.

Bummer... the other picture didn't come through. (Why do I picture William Wallace? ; ) )

This thread has really generated a ton of responses. In the Midwest we don't realize what its like for you guys out on the border, but I can only imagine.

God bless all of those who remain vigilant.

I just don't understand why Washington doesn't get it?

If I see it, why don't they?

So in other words you can't respond to anything I've presented and you resort to playing the victim. You infer...your guy...you insinuate...nice a cozy with Jackson-Lee and Rangle...and associate...even Obama supported this.
Tsk, tsk.

We pi$$ed away two BILLION dollars to Darfur in two years...
Big friggin deal! We've "pi$$ed away" BILLIONS for YEARS all around the world! Nothing new about that.
The United States’ net ODA in 2005 was USD 27.5 billion, a rise of 35.6% in real terms. Its ODA/GNI ratio rose from 0.17% to 0.22%, its highest level since 1986. Apart from debt relief, most of the increase was due to reconstruction aid in Iraq (which totalled USD 3.5 billion), reconstruction and anti-narcotics programmes in Afghanistan (USD 1.5 billion) and aid to Sub-Saharan Africa (USD 4.1 billion).
That's JUST 2005! You've got a narrow focus.

I just can't figure out what's in it for Tancredo.
I'm still trying to figure out what's in it for you.

I'm here in the shadows just doing the work the illegal Mexicans don't want to do. I hope life has improved for you.

The truth is out there if you want it but hey, if Obama likes it how can it be bad for conservatives.

And another thing!
I'm sure you don't want to dig too far.
All I've done is dig. You've done NOTHING to help other than throw out one bill number which, when given a link to, you can't even show anything in it to back up what you claim.
Perhaps you're the one who needs to dig further rather than telling others that they should.

Geez, we need to weed out the goofy liberal traitors from the border patrol

Whose truth? You're acting like an impediment to the truth.
And your second attempt at association is more pathetic than your first.

It's old history for me...trying to help you play catch up weeks later isn't that interesting of a proposition to me.

It sounds like revised history to me.
...trying to help you play catch up weeks later isn't that interesting of a proposition to me.
And yet just a little while ago you were so accomidating! Suddenly it's clam up time?
That figures. You've been proven wrong, as far as I can tell, so further distancing yourself from things is an understandable tactic.

And you wondered why I chuckled when you popped onto the thread. Don't worry, people who were interested saw what's going on with Tancredo and his passion for Darfur already.

Oh, you chuckled because you think you're hot feces and I'm simply an idiot that you can "outwit" at will. Give me a break.
I chuckled because I kew that this would turn out the same way it always has when you and I debate. I post tons of facts while you post dribble, throw out preposterous claims without any evidence to back it up and then belittle anybody who attempts to correct you or proves you wrong.
Don't worry, people who were interested saw what's going on with Tancredo and his passion for Darfur already.
And if you can confuse folks even further then all the better, right?
Secondly, there are a whole bunch of folks interested in Darfur. Did you get a glimpse of the big time Dem cosponsors on that bill you mentioned?
Do you think "people who were interested" saw what was going on with them?

And where have I done that? On this thread?

BTW, I'm still waiting for you to prove what you claimed...that Tancredo cosponsored a bill to give more money to Darfur.
Isn't that making YOU look like the one who should be made sport of?
