U.S. tipping Mexico to Minuteman patrols (telling the Mexican government)
Daily Bulletin ^ | 5/9/2006 | Sara A Carter

Posted on 05/09/2006 6:21:25 AM PDT by IrishMike

While Minuteman civilian patrols are keeping an eye out for illegal border crossers, the U.S. Border Patrol is keeping an eye out for Minutemen -- and telling the Mexican government where they are. According to three documents on the Mexican Secretary of Foreign Relations Web site, the U.S. Border Patrol is to notify the Mexican government as to the location of Minutemen and other civilian border patrol groups when they participate in apprehending illegal immigrants -- and if and when violence is used against border crossers.

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman confirmed the notification process, describing it as a standard procedure meant to reassure the Mexican government that migrants' rights are being observed.

"It's not a secret where the Minuteman volunteers are going to be," Mario Martinez said Monday.

"This ... simply makes two basic statements -- that we will not allow any lawlessness of any type, and that if an alien is encountered by a Minuteman or arrested by the Minuteman, then we will allow that government to interview the person."

Minuteman members were not so sanguine about the arrangement, however, saying that reporting their location to Mexican officials nullifies their effectiveness along the border and could endanger their lives.

"Now we know why it seemed like Mexican officials knew where we were all the time," said Chris Simcox, founder of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. "It's unbelievable that our own government agency is sending intelligence to another country. They are sending intelligence to a nation where corruption runs rampant, and that could be getting into the hands of criminal cartels.

"They just basically endangered the lives of American people."

The "migrant's" rights? What about America's rights?

In Washington, from the top down, when it concerns Mexico and illegal immigration, the only right Americans have is to be forced to pay for this outrage.

Contact the White House, your Senators, your Representatives and your Governors. We are being sold out!

It's time now, but nobody wants to start first.

Agreed. Early adoption of such a philosophy isn't going to have "career longevity" written all over it.

That being said, yes. It has been past due time for a while now...

Barf barf. I can see that is more important than our national sovereignty, fall in step with the party line, don't make waves.

Oh sure, and yet it was somehow kept out of the media? If the Minutemen so much as fart the wrong way the story is blown all out of proportion, there is no way the Minutemen are making arrests and no one knows about it. There is no justification for sharing this information. This is simply more pandering to Mexico at the expense of our own citizens. Minutemen who are US citizens, are now in danger from smugglers because our own government shares info with them.

Sounds like a convoluted use. So what US citizens are we talking about disappearing here?

"If you tell the RNC your money now goes to the Minutemen, do they pass your name on to the Mexican government?"

I sure hope they do! Americans are starting to see what treason looks like when it is shoved in their face. It won't be long before we can just give them a phone book and say, "Want to talk to a patriot? Call anyone in this book."

Oh sure, and yet it was somehow kept out of the media?

Citizen's arrests are perfectly legal within certain guidelines, and thus would not provide sufficient grist for the press mill in and of themselves.

There is no justification for sharing this information.

Then do not provide your name to law enforcement when calling in a tip.

The tax payers in my county are paying Spanish translators $500 dollars an hour to work with non English speaking arrestees. Translators are also paid this hourly rate for the 400+ mile trip that the they must make to get here and back. The county claims that they have no Spanish translators in the area that are willing to do this job. This was in the local newspaper not long ago BTW. Follow the money.

I suppose. I also suppose that one might donate in cash... anonymously. Or simply donate and don't tell RNC squat.

You're welcome.

It seems like advocating the termination the NAFTA, CAFTA and FTAA treaties would be a winning campaign issue.

If the American people knew the destruction to our constitution of these free trade agreements, they would put a stop to them. I think you have a good idea advocating the termination of these trade agreement as a winning campaign issue.

"It's the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, we are a party to that treaty, and the relevant clauses were put in place by the United States and other non-Third World countries to put a lid on dictators' ability to make American citizens disappear."

That treaty isn't relevant to the issue of illegal immigration. It's intended to deal with legal visitors from a foreign country. We want the illegals to disappear. Not in some sinister plot to kidnap them but to go home. Again, do really think we contact their government every time we send one back? What's to talk about besides giving them information they could use to make their next invasion attempt successful?

The relevant clauses are applicable to all parties under the treaty, not just to US citizens being detained in foreign countries.

That phrase alone sends chills up my spine. But how often have we heard that from the RINO enablers??

one more time, the minute men do not make arrests or detain, they simply report violations at x, y, z locations. But you already know that, guess it's just more fun to ignore the truth then to deal with it.
