14 GOP INCUMBENTS DEFEATED IN PRIMARY
capoliticalnews.com (received via email) ^ | May 20, 2006 | Stephen Frank

Conservatives, nationwide are getting angry about the loss of principle by GOP'ers in office. Big spending in Washington and Sacramento. The inability to control illegal aliens. Failure to protect jobs and the failure to stop the social agenda of liberals in our schools in finally causing conservatives to say NO to GOP incumbents, even if it means we could lose seats in a legislative body. The thought is simple, why protect a Republican running for office if their voting record will differ little from the Democrats.

In Utah, GOP Congressman Chris Cannon could not win his Parties endorsement for re-election--his opponent got more votes in Convention then he did.

In Nebraska, Congressman tom Osborne, and legend in the state, was defeated for the nomination for Governor due to his weak stand on illegal aliens.

In Heardon, Virginia, five incumbent city council members lost re-election due to their creation of a "Day Labor Center" for illegal aliens.

In the California 50th Congressional District Special Election, the Democrat is ahead of the Republican, since the Republican has been portrayed as more liberal than many Democrats--has even supported Democrats in the past.

But, Pennsylvania last Tuesday should have been the two by four to every GOP candidate and office holder in the nation. At least 14 incumbent GOP office holders, including the top two in the State Senate were defeated in a Republican primary, by Republicans. The good news is that if they had not been defeated, many GOP voters would have stayed home in November. This is a lesson for us in California, and the nation, GOP voters have had enough of Republicans acting like Democrats. Our candidates need to stand for GOP principles, then vote and govern that way once in office.

No longer will GOP voters settle for, "well at least they have a "R" after their name." There is a revolt going on in GOP ranks and it is moving across the nation.

Well, this is a relief. I was under the impression that criticizing Republicans was becomng a direct route to oblivion in FR.
Glad to see it's not. That statement pretty well summarizes the way I feel about the whole thing. How a candidate behaves in office, how far he is willing to enter the dark side to "get along", all is much more important to me, and most conservatives, than the label he hangs on himself.

Actions speak louder than words and, in my universe, becoming too comfortable in office is a certain sign that a politician, my politician, needs to be doing something else.

I am happy to see this is not considered a perversion of the conservative spirit.

IT STARTS... Republicans vote but are really really urinated off..

As I suspected, all those I am not going to vote for a RINO, voters, will vote ANYWAYS.. Thats because most republicans, I think, love America.. They just feel disenfranchised.. which in many places they are.. but didn't see America due to go down the tubes.. The UNdocumented Insurgent issue woke many UP I think.. Lets hope.. and pray that this will be a trend.. Some seats may be lost.. but a stonger republican party can happen..

Because there are many more issues than UNdocumented Insurgents on the table.. that needs to get FIXED..

A strong republican party should scare the heck out the democrats.. nothing, I mean, nothing else will.. With this attitude, if it persists, maybe even Newt has a chance of running and sending shivvers from the democrats feet up their yellow back to their crooked necks..

Them varmints are afraid of Newt.. rightfully so..

That needs to be repeated. Hopefully it will show Republicans that the base is fed up! Had they not done it, there would be staggering losses in the general elections. This, and only this, IMO, can possibly save the Republican majority in the House and Senate. Hopefully, all the Republicans who have been alienated by those RINOS will come back and vote for TRUE Conservatives.

I wouldn't be surprised if John McCain soils himself when he sees these results. LOL IF he doesn't, he should. The base has spoken and he's not in our plans! ;o)

This is the best news I have heard in a long time.

I am still very concerned about our Senate, though. I wish we had never changed the Constitution to have direct election of Senators.

Exactly right. McCain on the Presidential ticket is a perfect example of "hold your nose, pull the lever, go home and puke."

If we can get rid of such problems in the Primaries, I'm all for it.

I was thinking more in terms of the General, as indicated by the quote I used. ("... Democrat...")

What really makes me nervous is the "protest voter" types who don't care if they put Hillary into the White House, just so long as their anger is assuaged.

Here in Portland France the woman who started the Homosexual Marriage debate by marrying a couple of Lesbians was thrown out by a 2-1 vote.

Her and MA started the Marriage Amendment debate that won in every state including Oregon by a 60-40 vote. This is big news because she was beaten by a nobody in perhaps the most Liberal city councel in the Country. The people have spoken.

Pray for W and Our Troops

Sorry to sound argumentive but never, never, ever sit home on election day, it doesn't teach anyone anything. If you don't like the GOP candidate vote 3rd Party, I intend to if they run either McCain or G for President. I certainly won't vote for either of them. They are neither one conservatives and never will be. McCain I think, is just nuts.

Voting 3rd party is more effective than staying home because it lets them know you would have voted if you had a viable candidate, if we could get the 3rd party vote percentage up to about 20 percent they would be crapping their pants for sure and changing, I can gaurantee that! Staying home, they just think they were in the right but had a poor voter turn out.

I will vote for the best conservative republican in the primaries but if that doesn't work I will be voting 3rd party this year, and I think so will a lot of other conservatives. I choose the constitution party, or independent party in the states that don't have a constitution party candidate.

We have an opportunity here in Ohio, with DeWiner up for re-election. Me? I'm voting third party.

The NRA has always supported candidates that were in favor of the 2nd amendment regardless of their party affiliation. They black ball a lot of republicans for that very reason. Hurrah for the NRA, without them we would all be subjects now instead of citizens!

Sure, and Clintonize the nation. Please, one Clinton in a lifetime is one too many. We have to work our tails off to ensure that the traitor John McCain does NOT become the Republian nominee.

Hillary's health care plan, and its defeat, in 1994 resulted in the Republican takeover of Congress. That was at least as potent as illegal immigration, if not more so.

Hillarycare didn't even remotely come close to generating the anger that the illegal alien problem has. Illegals pose MANY dangers to Americans, where the Healthcare issue with Hillary would only impact our wallets. Obviously, FReepers who disagree with you on the illegal alien problem are just a drop in the bucket. The outrage true conservatives have been feeling is nationwide. I just hope they come back when they see true conservatives running so we don't lose the House and the Senate.

No. I will not vote for someone because they have an "R" after their name. My number one priority is to weed out RINOs, not maintaining politcal power. Once the conservatives run the party, it will actually do much better. As Rush says, Republicans do better than when they run as conservatives.

You've got that right. For all the good Tom Delay did for the Conservative cause; I'm glad he's not running. We'd have lost that seat for sure. Folks in the Houston area don't like crooks regardless of party affiliation.
