Most of the country don't actually consider immigration the only (or biggest) issue, and many of Cannon's supporters probably don't care a great deal about his position one way or the other.
That might be true of Cannon's district in Utah, I don't really know. Many of those suffering from the problem are hoping they understand what's at stake.
