I am looking for assessments of possible terrorist threats to the US that have been made in the past year. I work in preparedness efforts and need something that will motivate others I will be presenting to. The focus needs to be on biological threats but can include chemical and nuclear -- especially if they are in reference to public health impacts. This is a real opportunity to help prepare for possible acts of terrorism.
Thanks, MF.
Search the archives at http://www.nationalterroralert.com. There are several archived news stories as well as current. The most recent news is London preparing for a possible cyanide gas attack by terrorists celebrating the anniversary of 7/7.
Also, just do a search on Google for CBRN. CBRN is the term that covers this topic.
Hope this helps.
Excellent. Just the kind of thing I'm looking for.
Thanks.
Also, there are several training courses online that feature multimedia presentations. I don't want to plug a number of sites here, but one that we have used in the past is

The images here will definitly get your audiences attention.

It might help you.
This isn't from the last year but...
Consider the anthrax attacks (which mass memory forgets happened AFTER the 9-11 attacks).
There is suspicion that Atta was involved (based on his symptoms and the Florida victim that was the first to die). The letters could have been mailed before his final flight (what would the delivery time be? Could he have used a proxy agent to mail them?). If Atta was the anthrax attacker, then he is dead (although someone else may have the rest of the stockpile).
The other famous suspect is an American scientist. There have been no further reported attacks (I believe, there have been some false reports).
Some questions to ask, regardless of who launched the deadly attacks (and people DID die and more people were affected). How much was made? Was it all used in those attacks? How much remains? Is it conceivable that the small quantity that was used was all that was produced?
What would the effectiveness be these days? Could someone have made more? Was it a high profile test to see what would be affected and what the response would be?
Just curious...can you talk a little more about your project?
Search the forum for the "Threat Matrix".
Frightening. Makes you wonder what else has slipped in that we don't yet know about.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Hope it helps.
