The MSM and so-called "loyal opposition" has done nothing but trash America and its leaders from within for quite some time. Is it any wonder that the rest of the world has not finally come under the sway of this concentrated, unrelenting and unrebutted propaganda? Remember when it was said that "politics stops at the water's edge"? Ha. LOL.

The UK is really our most loyal and in many instances our only ally. Tony Blair is retiring. It would be a real loss if the UK decided to not support our goals any longer.

It seems Mexico and Canada are antagonistic and hostile to us, so we don't even have a friendly North America.

NATO has turned on us, thanks to France and Germany.

Old foes Russia and China are flexing their muscles.

I certainly hope a new leader emerges in 2008 to show us the way to a brighter future.

Meanwhile, God! Please continue to Bless America!

Here are some links (below) to news bits regarding Iran. You might find some of them interesting. We glean public information (disregarding interspersed, subjective opinions) from various nations in order to put the general picture of a scenario together. A few Americans like myself have also listened to Iranian residents and visitors to gather points of view and motives from various factions.

As for "weapons of mass destruction" IMO, that was mostly meant to be convincing political speech: propaganda. Our posts in Afghanistan and Iraq were intended to be strategic bases of operation to win the whole War on Terror. Fortunately, we're not restricted to the methods and weapons of the past.

Notice that Iranian sources of problems (along with other sources) in southern Iraq are being considered. As you know, leaders take on tasks according to their element sizes and specialties within them--not according to prideful, nationalistic reasons given by the civilian media (for the benefit of other readers here). Attention is given to all leaders involved, although not all requests can be granted (physical, situational restraints).

US military history archives and classes don't intentionally leave anything out of the mix. Documented histories of world conflicts (including those from the various empires of the past) are taught to leaders. But few civilians are aware, for example, of the origin of the phrase, "gunboat diplomacy." They often mistakenly apply it to more contemporary long roads of diplomacy followed by cautiously executed operations (an example of what you and I keep in mind as we read between the lines).

...well said.

"The UK is really our most loyal and in many instances our only ally. Tony Blair is retiring. It would be a real loss if the UK decided to not support our goals any longer."

...in many instances, yes. Don't be disappointed if the UK doesn't send troops into Iran, should something happen there. They have many in Afghanistan and Iraq, and a nation can only send so many. If the UK stance changes when Blair is retired, that's just the way such things go off-and-on. They'll be back, when we really need them. Or we'll be with them, when they really need us. The coalition for dealing with Iran will still likely be more diverse and cohesive than most people know. So in other instances, other nations will be more able and motivated to contribute more.

"It seems Mexico and Canada are antagonistic and hostile to us, so we don't even have a friendly North America."

Canada is getting with us more. Our military has been more combined with Canada than most people on either side of the border realize. Harper and friends are also bringing newer work to the efforts. But remember that Canada has only about 32 million people for its tax base, and it can only support a modest level of military security. Its military forces are proportionally (percentage-wise to its population) about the size of ours. Mexico, on the other hand...? Much of Central America and South America has been gradually moving toward fascism with growing sentiments against other ethnic groups (ours for one) for some time.

No, they won't. They are too far down the wussy road. They have disarmed their citizens, allowed foreigners to destroy their culture, and have socialized their economy. The Brits are done.

Don't count them out yet. There may still be a time when with a cry and a sword England puts stop to all this.

That is, if there is still a sword left in England.

I also do not care that much about a few strange idiots here that are boiling in anger over those

homosexual(!)-perverted-nazi-cheese-eating-champagne-drinking-cowards-krauts-brit-monkeys-euroweenies that are living Eurarabia (BuHuHaHa!) under deGauls rule.

Just a few days ago a complete moron also called me a liar in my private mail. Due to their lack of broad information some believe earnestly into such BS like we Europeans would be living under islamic pressure and rule in the meantime. Those of the most offensive people here were never ever in Europe and have absolutely no usable information about the old continent. Simply a few bigots full of hate who really think that they are the ones to rule the world. A certain form of cretinism that is difficult to heal. The funniest thing is if they use (usually wrong) German or French word fragments and believe that they could impress us with their stammering (I am not speaking about those Freepers who have really learned those difficult languages). Extremely awkward. My English is also not perfect but I know what I want to express. Beside of those few boring and embarrassing idiots you find intelligent and interesting Americans (and Europeans) with lots of background information in this Forum. Since the PC press does not give a complete picture of the political circumstances it is also a great source of additional information and news. Thanks to Jim Robinson for providing this service!

If we conservative Europeans (no matter if we speak about the old continent or about the UK) are reporting about some dangerous trends in Europe our aim is not to offend Americans, but to maintain and restore the trans-atlantic relationship. It is indeed true - Europe has a different economic system, different values and different opinions. Since western Europe consists of strong democracies America has to live with our way of living just as we have to live with the singularity of the Americans. Although some things are felt as dividing there is still much more that is connecting us.

It is indeed sad that Mad Ivan left this forum because of a few moronic ultra-nationalistic bigots that offended Britain without any need. Their stance was somehow a certain form of political auto-erotic. FR lost one of its most important observers in Europe.

You are right: I also like and support America and its values: I don't envy it.

>>There has probably never been a time when America was held in such low esteem on this side of the Atlantic.<<

I hear this all the time from American business people visiting europe or Euros coming here. The only exception is some Danes who tell me that their resolve to finish the job in Iraq is still strong -that they'll stay as long as we do.

I've travelled extensively and the worst Anti-Americanism I've witnessed has been in the USA itself.Case in point, Democratic Underground. Even Stalin would blush at their anti-Americanism.

Interestingly enough, you seldom see this sentiment when you're doing business with Europeans or they want something from us. Odd how that seems to play out.

Well over half of those interviewed regard the US as an imperial power bent on dominating the world by one means or another.

You mean like Great Britain was 150 years ago?

What a truly disgusting post. Australia has been fighting shoulder to shoulder with America in EVERY major war since WW1. Australians died in Vietnam whilst the English were relaxing at home. NO country has been a stronger ally of America than Australia. Please take your liberalism elsewhere. Gen. Douglas McArthur used Brisbane as his HQ for the pacific theater. The Australian SAS were the first ground forces in Iraq. THANK GOD most fair minded Americans. are not as ungrateful for Australia's loyalty as yourself.

I wonder if they appreciate the tourist dollars Americans are spending in England. It's very expensive right now to travel there.

Yes, large percentages (not all) of them dislike us, and a few objective studies and observations bear that out. But they don't want us to know it.

I've been watching The Telegraph and a few other publications considered to be more pro-American. The truth of the more current matter is that they're getting angry and anxious about the situation of the generic Arabs in Israel and other Islamo-fascists elsewhere.

History of the British Mandate period is definitely worth a read. There are many versions of it around the Web, and all are biased. But the following contains facts that most others don't.

That is correct and should frequently be brought up. Thank you for reminding us.

Don't buy into this bilge.

Having failed at everything else now they want to create ill will between the US an Britain.

I am sick of the Corporate Press Liberal/Conservative whores to their advertisers and a cabal of elitists.

The Brits, Aussies, Poles, Japanese and a lot of others have been darn good allies and we need to thank them and ignore the media scum from any side of the house.

So to America's Allies all (those I missed please excuse) thanks. We will not forget your friendship and we will stand with you in defense of your homes as well.

...we'd pay taxes to the UN...we'd supply the armies...

The very thought is frightening. Are Americans as a whole too complacent? How many U.S. citizens are aware that forces inside and outside the country are willing to destroy it?

And what do we do about an administration that, IMO, supports open borders...is focused on an agenda it knows very well the majority of Americans oppose?

Short of half or more adults tuning out the mainstream media, how can we let them know we will not tolerate their leftist propoganda?

We should be willing to hear criticism from other countries...we're not perfect. But better to adopt an "offensive" stance rather than succomb to defensiveness.

Polls are a poor way to make policy. How accurate are they, after all?

If the U.S. decides that certain other countries don't like us or believe our goal is to take over the world, let's try withdrawing ALL our support: military, health, food and money, and close the doors to all immigration into this land.

I welcome your comments.

re :The Brits always seem to get a bit snippy around the 4th of July. Wonder why?

Bollox its a case of freepers hunting and searching the foreign press to find anything that might be critical of America and then you post it here. for every one to whine and cluck over and come out with one liners.

Right this minute I wish you were standing in front of me making that relaxing at home remark, because then you will be picking your teeth of the floor and I don't care if this gets me banned.

I am fed up with American civilians bad mouthing my country you one to do your bit join up instead of being a keyboard commando.
