(CNN) -- U.S. President George W. Bush and British PM Tony Blair have laughed off the moment when their unguarded comments were broadcast to the world on a live microphone at the G8 summit in St. Petersburg.
Asked about the microphone mishap during his final briefing of the summit, Blair quipped that it was "all about transparent government" -- smiling and tapping the microphone in front of him.
Bush "sort of rolled his eyes and laughed" when told the comments had been audible and a copy had been made, said Press Secretary Tony Snow, according to The Associated Press.
"Actually his reaction first was, 'What did it say?' So we showed him the transcript, then he rolled his eyes and laughed."

I like the poll at the end....Who should be the most embarassed. So far "their reputations were enhanced" is in the lead. ;-)

While flipping through the channels yesterday, every time I went to CNN to check on any news concerning the Mid East they were going on and on about this open mic expletive. These retards are positively anal over this non issue, and it seems that perhaps they think if they continue to harp about it, it may help the dimocrats this fall.
Pitiful.

Never saw so much non-news reports on the open mike incident in my life! They're still talking about it 2 days later. Stupid media.
To: rightwingintelligentsia
The s-word was nothing.
The video showed him eating something, looking upwards at Blair , and talking, all at the same time. That's as good a recipe for choking if ever there was. Now that would really have been embarrassing.

I like the part where they say, "See the President use the s word at 1:31". Wow.
And the poll at the end - I guess they wouldn't have the guts to put in "the media". That's my vote.

Headline news even spelled out the s-word on the tv screen.
That's got to be a first.

Geeze,it figures. So what is sooooo bad about sh!t? Had he said crap it would not have made it to the front page. Crap is still sh!t. He could have said the UN is full of Clymers too. A very moderate and overly used 4 letter word is news? I can't believe this Sh!t.

PS Leave it to the MSM to eat this sh!t up.

I don't think the press really cares that Bush curses (I'm sure Hillary is infinitely worse). But they think that we do, and so they press what they think is a wedge issue. (I also noticed that the NYT referred to the expletive as profanity, which is incorrect. Profanity profanes Christ; what they were reported was an obscenity, which lacks a religious element.)

"These retards are positively anal over this non issue..."
This serves to further prove, if you needed any further proof, that these liberal 'journalists' are incapable of focusing on primary issues and also demonstrates how very little professional or personal discernment they possess. It's just their autonomic, jellyfish-like response to any and every event, whether newsworthy or not. And in the case of this President, CNN reacts to positively everything as if the President self-consciously postures for their approval....NOT!!!!.. Wrong President, wrong administration....NEW PAGE HERE FOLKS!!!

Every time we get a background view of Bush, I respect him more. GWB reminds me of Harry Truman. History will treat him well.

Kerry hits slopes for break from campaign heat
By Charles Hurt THE WASHINGTON TIMES
Fearing another fall, one of the Secret Service Agents skied towards him but they collided. Concerned that some reporters would think he was not an expert athlete, Kerry yelled "I don't fall down. That son of a b*tch knocked me over."
Later, Mr. Kerry wiped out six times on his own in view of reporters.

This is my suggestion to Tony Snow.
At the next presser, bring out the cussin' jar and left the reporters know GW put in his quarter.

CNN's take on "fair and balanced" for ya right there.
They might as well be asking an innocent man:
Have you stopped beating your wife?
How often do you beat your wife?
Which is more effective, beating her often or harder or both?
Pathetic.
