As the Atlantic hurricane season nears its peak period, forecasters said today the tropics were quiet.
Tropical storm formation is not expected through Monday, National Hurricane Center meteorologists said today.
The weak low pressure system that had been threatening Florida has moved inland over southeastern Georgia and is no longer a concern, forecasters said. A rather quiet season so far
The Atlantic basin has been eerily quiet as mid-August arrives with a relatively tame hurricane season in place so far.

Perhaps the recent rain has forced the reduced power level of HAARP. Or perhaps HAARP caused the rain itself due to a stray antenna field lobe. The Parks Highway that connects the metropolitan areas of Fairbanks and Anchorage is severed by the results of this rain.

Time to go back to reporting the plague of shark attacks. The public must be thrown into panic over something, after all.

Aside from the fact that I am grateful that so far the people on the Gulf and Atlantic coasts have gotten a break this year, I am immensely pleased to see the meterological media all dressed up with no place to go.
The longer without storms we go, the funnier it gets. Even now Gore is meeting with climate experts to come up with an explanation which will point to "no hurricanes" as being the sign of impending global warming, despite last year's claim that "lots of hurricanes" was a sign of global warming. HA!

I've got a feeling that Al-Gore and his boys will be telling us in the near future that "glowball warming" is preventing these storms from being able to develop. Glowball warming caused dangerous hurricanes before it prevented them.

no longer a concern, forecasters said.Yesterday some forecaster said conditions were ripe for New Orleans to be hit again. Actually, SOUTH of New Orleans where all the oil rigs are. Maybe forecasters have oil futures in their future.

The DBM had all their hopes pinned on this non-hurricane, openly wishing and hoping for it develop into this year's Katrina so they could flog George Bush endlessly with it.
They are so deeply saddened that this won't give them any stories about blacks eating corpses to stay alive.
