PRINCETON, N.J. -- Forty-five percent of Americans believe the news media in this country are too liberal, while only 14% say the news media are too conservative. These perceptions of liberal inclination have not changed over the last three years. A majority of Americans who describe their political views as conservative perceive liberal leanings in the media, while only about a third of self-described liberals perceive conservative leanings.
More generally, the Sept. 8-10 Gallup Poll finds that a little more than half of Americans have a great deal or fair amount of trust in the news media when it comes to reporting the news fully, accurately, and fairly. Trust in the news media has not changed significantly over the last six years. Conservatives have a slightly lower level of trust in the media than either moderates or liberals do.
News Media Too Liberal?
Gallup has asked Americans four times in recent years if they perceive the news media as too liberal, too conservative, or about right, with the following results:
Americans have been considerably more likely to perceive the news media as too liberal than as too conservative the last four times this question has been posed. One's interpretation of these findings is, to a degree, dependent on one's perspective. It's true that substantially more Americans say that the news media are too liberal than say they are too conservative. At the same time, a majority says that the news media are either too conservative, or just about right.
....
The news media is too liberal and too feminine.

" It's true that substantially more Americans say that the news media are too liberal than say they are too conservative. At the same time, a majority says that the news media are either too conservative, or just about right. "
This has got to be in the running for the "Pathetic Attempt to Spin" award...

Isn't Gallup a liberal polling company?
Like Hearst and his yellow journalism todays news organizaations have agendas. Phrase used to be yellow journalism, todays brand is UnAmerican and crap.
Leftist, Marxist, anti-American, totalitarian--all these apply to that bunch of parrots, who serve as the Propaganda Machine for the Left and its Political Machine, the Democrat Party.
But liberal--definitely not!
"The news media is too liberal and too feminine"
Aint' that the truth. They put a bunch of pretty little bubble heads on that can read. Whooppeee!!
Especially MSNBC and CNN!! Most of the woman on Foxnews are very good but there are a few....
These numbers, more or less, show the 45% of conservatives in America and the 15% of moonbat-DU-MoveOn crowd...
I'll agree with that!

That might be true if the media were middle-of-the-road. But they aren't they are liberal. What this really means is that, as liberal as the media are, 59% thinks that they are ok. Those in the 59% may not be moonbat, but they are close enough.
This is either poorly written, or a flat-out lie.
You can't have more X than Y, and say that Y is the majority.
The only way to make it true would be to change the meaning::
It's true that substantially more Americans say that the news media are too liberal than say they are too conservative, compared to a year ago. (Or something like that).
Thanks, usually I get replys that I don't have a clue or worse.
You're right - that's the worrisome thing.
They're moonbat trainees.
If you want a good laugh just listen when any liberal tries to argue there is no liberal bias in the media. IMO of all the many giggles you can get from them, this one is by far is the best entertainment.
I'm surprised to hear that. They must be dolts.
