Hey Coop, is the Irey camp going to get any mileage out of these old Abscam transcripts? It's a new day now. Many of Murtha's old supporters from the '70s are dead and gone. This generation might need to be bought up to speed on his "participation" in the ABSCAM Scandal; espcecially with the Dems trying to make "corruption" an issue.

I dunno. But they'd be criticized for not using them. Might as well put them into play, and let voters decide for themselves.
Heck, I was just a kid, but I remember what Abscam was. However, I hadn't a clue until a few months ago that Murtha was caught up in that mess.

He didn't take any money, but that's only because he was holding out for a bigger wad of cash. That's obvious to anyone that has seen the ABSCAM video. That video would make a great campaign ad (hint, hint)!
