Islam teaches peace, they told anyone who would listen in news conferences, at interfaith services and, most famously, standing in a mosque with President Bush.
But five years later, the target audience for their pleas has shifted. Now the faith's American leaders are starting to warn fellow Muslims about a threat from within.
The 2005 subway attacks in London that investigators say were committed by British-born and -raised Muslims, and the relentless Muslim-engineered sectarian assaults on Iraqi civilians, are among the events that have convinced some U.S. Muslims to change focus.
"This sentiment of denial, that sort of came as a fever to the Muslim community after 9-11, is fading away," said Muqtedar Khan, a political scientist at the University of Delaware and author of "American Muslims." "They realize that there are Muslims who use terrorism, and the community is beginning to stand up to this."
Muslim leaders point to two stark examples of the new mind-set:
_A Canadian-born Muslim man worked with police for months investigating a group of Islamic men and youths accused in June of plotting terrorist attacks in Ontario. Mubin Shaikh said he feared any violence would ultimately hurt Islam and Canadian Muslims.
_In England, it's been widely reported that a tip from a British Muslim helped lead investigators to uncover what they said was a plan by homegrown extremists to use liquid explosives to destroy U.S.-bound planes.

In California muslims were busting up the inventory of stores that sold "wicked" items like alcohol and threatening the store owners. I think that classifies as racketeering.
If there are any interstate ties, those groups should be shut down by RICO. It can and IS happening here.
About 6 years late. However it took that long for the American Christians to take on the KKK.
They will never be trusted whatever they say at this point.(like in business). They have soiled their own religion for 1000 years even if they reformed tomorrow.
That way you cowards will finally be out of the closet, so to speak, and we can know who you are and eliminate you, once and for all. No courts and attorneys to hide behind. Grab your guns, bombs, poison gas and just "bring it on."

Baloney. I don't remember CAIR and other Muslims running to the microphones after 9-11. I do remember liberal newspapers like the Times-Picayune in New Orleans running a weeklong series of articles about how peaceful Islam is.

The Abolution movement in America was largely a Christian religious cause.
The "muslims" in California were actually Farrakahn followers, "Black Muslims" and have as much in common with Islam as the Halle Bopp Comet Cult has to do with Christianity.

Look at Iran's nuclear facilities. They say the nuclear power is for peaceful purposes. If that's the case then why did they develop the entire program in secret?
It just blows me away that it seems the world's leaders are so blind to what their true goals are and that Iran's leaders are so good at denial that they can't see that most knowledgable people, other than the aforementioned world leaders, see right through their smokescreen.
These people aren't peaceful in any sense of the word "peace." All they want is world domination, just like the Nazis, Communists, and Japanese during WWII. And speaking of WWII, doesn't it strike anyone as odd that the world is trying to appease Iran just like the world tried to appease Hitler before WWII?
Except that the MMM (Nation of Islam) has more followers than the Halle Bopp Comet Watchers and the mass media doesn't report Farrakarhn's all to common antisemitic remarks.

The way I read this the Muslims are trying to warn their fellow Muslims that some of their own may turn them in.
That doesnt sound too peaceful. Now when they urge other muslims to turn in so called radicals i might being to look at them another ay.
What does one organization have to do with the other?
Doesn't Islam mean peace AND submission?
