It would take a lot of propellant to get them there.

OTOH, if it was powered by their own hot air, it could work!

Thanks Fred. I'm still in shock.
He was bigger than life. Thank God
his Father can stand in the gap for
Bindi and Bob.

It's one thing to hold opinions as blatantly offensive as gloating over the death of a human being, it's quite another not only to state it in public but to feel compelled to do so. The whole thing has a "stick a finger in the eye of the bourgeoisie" aspect to it that is one of the intellectual left's least attractive cultural features, and to attempt to rationalize it with simple falsehoods as Greer did compounds the sin. She may or may not be above us but she certainly ought to be above that.

Clearly she is not. And so we are left not with the image of a brave iconoclast bucking a trend, but of a disagreeable little girl sloshing paint over something beautiful so that no one else can enjoy what she is incapable of appreciating herself. That is very sad, but not very rare, behavior.

My brother and I have had a dream for about two decades now to travel to Australia together. We weren't going there to look at the art, we were going there to see a beautiful frontier continent and a unique people. And dive great waters!

I've had a dream to visit Australia, too, for about 2 decades. My son is also now very interested. And yes, though I don't dive, to see the beautiful country, especially the southeast for me, and, of course, the fantastic, 'no-airsy' people. The art (watercolorists everywhere know Bob Wade), the food, and, yes, the zoo and wildlife reserve. I like the new commercials.

Greer has said nothing about Mr. Irwin, and far too much about herself.

I don't agree with Greer's politics or philosophy but I do think that Irwin did provoke the animals for exciting TV viewing or entertainment purposes. I'm sure he had a lot of good qualities but I was never keen on some of his behaviour towards animals.
