UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) - A Prince George's County developer is accusing Maryland Senate President Mike Miller of punching him.
Leo Bruso of Land and Commercial Inc. filed a complaint against Miller, alleging that Miller hit him as he left a hearing in Upper Marlboro on Wednesday.
Bruso says he was standing along the wall of the County Council chamber when Miller grabbed his left arm and swung his right fist toward his left jaw.
Bruso says the blow was "painful," causing him to have an "automatic reaction to hit" Miller back in the face.
He would not say whether he and Miller exchanged words before the alleged blow, and he would not comment on whether he and Miller have a strained relationship.
Both men spoke at the hearing against a plan to create a zone that requires 25-acre lots in the rural part of the county.
I just got back from 2 weeks vacation in MD with family. I'd forgotten how much fun MD politics are!
No mention of party affiliation anywhere in the article.
Dare I guess?
Leo is a Republican and Mike Miller is a Dem. The man running against him is Ron "The Right" Miller.
Love it. That's quite a reflex action. Now, look at what you made me do!
You mean the race is Miller vs. Miller? Boy are voters going to be confused. Ha Ha. Hope Miller wins.
But, why file a complaint? The other guy hit him and he returned the favor. It's over, it's done, Jay, tell 'em what he's won.... But, noooooo, he decides he also wants to file a complaint on top of the retaliatory punch? Why didn't he just whack 'em with his dang purse?!
Mike Miller is the Dem who has been in the Maryland state government for about 35 years. He is white. Ron "The Right" Miller is the Pub running against him. He is black. He was going to originally run against Steny Hoyer but the state party convinced him he had a better chance at Mike Miller. Here is his website - http://www.ronmillerformaryland.com/.
