PHOENIX Arizona voters have begun to make up their minds about who they want in the U.S. Senate.
And it doesn't look good for Democratic challenger Jim Pederson.
A poll released by Channel 8 and the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Arizona State University shows Republican incumbent Jon Kyl has held his lead over Pederson.
At the same time the pool of undecided voters has shrunk.
Kyl received 49 percent of 882 likely voters surveyed between September 21st to the 24th.
Pederson received 38 percent and Libertarian Richard Mack got 2 percent.
The poll has a 3 percent margin of error.
Pederson tells The Associated Press his campaign's internal polls show Kyl has a much narrower lead.
In the race for governor, a statewide poll shows Democratic Gov. Janet Napolitano with a 2-to-1 lead over Republican challenger Len Munsil.
The Channel 8 ASU poll shows Napolitano making deep inroads among Republican voters and attracting support from the vast majority of independents surveyed.
Napolitano leads Munsil 64 percent to 28 percent, with Libertarian Barry Hess receiving 2 percent. Six percent remain undecided.
I can't figure out why Napalatano is so damn popular. From what I can tell, all she's really done is block some things the legislature did. Has she any real accomplishments to her name?
Why does everyone like ole Nap. She vetoed bill after bill after bill of the Repubs.
Other than being Bill Clinton in a skirt and being a great comrade. Nah.
Just as inexplicable as Brad Henry winning by so much in Oklahoma or Kathleen Sibelius winning in Kansas, I guess.
Makes me wonder, because many, many people in AZ say they can't stand her.
Pederson is a Democrat? Funny, he never mentions that...
The GOOD Arizona Senator.
I understand Henry...kinda. I mean, he won because of a fluke 3-way race in 2002, and since then, he's done nothing to offend anyone (read: he's done nothing), and Oaklahoma is the #1 state for Reagan Democrats. There are still a bunch of populist leaning Conservatives that would like to vote D if the D isn't too nuts, and Henry seems like the perfect guy, especially seeming as how he can't vote for a nutjob for Speaker or Majority Leader.
Sibelius is a bit puzzling, but while she'll probably win, she's not running THAT far ahead. Also, Sibelius is a very good looking woman and Napalatano is...not. Frankly, Napalatano looks like the biggest hit at the Lesbian Pride Parade. I don't have any reason to believe she's gay, but she looks it.
I read that Sebelius was the compromise candidate between Dems and liberal Republicans, which apparantly make up a large part of the KS electorate.
Wow, I guess that anti incumbant wave I keep hearing about from the MSM isn't quite what they think it is...

Regardless of whether she is the worst or the best, it is truly a missed opportunity for any Red State to not be competitive.
No offense to this governor candidate, but the showing is horribly disappointing.
How did he get the nomination?
She's a lesbian ...
I don't know but have you seen this:
http://www.lenmunsil.com/
It says Munsil is within single digits.
It's a Zogby Internet poll.
I really wonder if Janet is really going to beat him by double digits. She did not win by much in the last election and I doubt those on the reservation will come out for her. I know the teachers (govt. school, that is) love her.
Someone I know personally used to work with her and they told me she was definitely gay.
He seems to be a decent candidate on paper.
Anyhow, basically, everybody who would have had a shot at her took a look at it and passed because they didn't think they would win.
I'm guessing J.D. Hayworth or Jeff Flake will run in 4 years.
Wouldn't surprise me.
Napalitano has not done one damn thing good in the state. She has blocked every attempt to curb the illegal alien invasion that the republican congress has tried to implement. It's unbelievable that she is 36% ahead.
