Wasn't there an arsonal of guns and ammunition that the Dividians were going to use to blow up Texans. I believe that the only thing they could do was burn down the house. Remember this was a wacko cult. They did not listen to reason and yes unfortunately children died but the althernative would have been more deaths. It was a war and casualties happen. I was not as political as I am now when this happened so maybe some facts are CNN but not sure. I watched CNN occasionally but remember being glad that the house finally was burnt down and saved the U.S. from that group. Plus didn't they kill each other first anyway and put purple blankets on themselves or something. I know maybe I was nuts back then...not sure.

It's like this. David Koresh was a nutcase and he was probably assembling illegal weapons. He also was molesting some of the kids in his congregation.
However, the facts are at the time, the feds didn't have any cause to indict Koresh on federal charges. They also could have picked any time they wanted for the arrest. Koresh used to come to town a lot and he jogged every morning. The raid was a photo-op for the ATF to justify their existance.

They were indeed a cult, just as several respected religions are "Cults" to those who do not share their particular faith.
They had some "weird" ideas, Koresh was a loon, but they could hardly have been any threat to anyone outside their own little enclave!
The Gov. Org. could have arrested him when he was alone and away from the "compound" on several occasions, but chose to put on a show for the media and superiors in DC.
The claimed reason for the warrant was a bogus tip from a nosy UPS driver.
If the guns ATF claimed to be illegal really existed why does BATFE STILL refuse to allow any independent examination of the guns recovered after the fire?
The real reason for the Waco-Davidian raid was a publicity stunt to repair ATF's reputation!
ATF & FBI made up numerous lies to justify their actions, destroyed evidence, and committed institutional perjury.
This all happened shortly after it came to light that-
1. ATF offices and equipment were being used to print and distribute flyers and mailing's for the "Good Old Boy's Round-up", a KKK type party on private land.
2. Revelations that ATF personnel were attending that same event.
3. ATF was being sued by "minority" personnel for a pattern of being systematically passed over for promotion.
4. ATF was under a cloud due to senior ATF officers engaging in sexual harassment of the few female's on staff.
5. There were other scandals going on regards ATF, such as federal paperwork being destroyed by employee's who felt they were being overworked.
6. Some members of congress were considering dismantling ATF, and dividing their duties, parceling them out to agencies such as the FBI, DOJ, etc.
This eventually happened on a lesser scale a couple of years ago, BATFE's duties were split among DOJ and Treasury.
ATF INVITED the press to film the warrant being served, then kept them away when the show did not go as planned. When is a legitimate warrant for major crimes served before media spectators?
The Davidian women and children were found in the basement, cowering under water soaked blankets in an effort to SURVIVE the fire, hardly "suicide"!
The Klinton regime allowed the use of chemical agents against the Davidians that we cannot use against a foreign enemy, per the Geneva convention!

I watched the whole sordid affair unfold, maybe you are too young to remember it, it haunts me as the worst U.S. Gov. Org. travesty of the last fifty years. Klinton, Reem'yo, and many others should have been prosecuted for mass murder.
