Clinton wins crackdown on school junk food

5 major food companies agree to snack guidelines that would ban Snickers

Snacks sold in schools will have less fat, sugar and salt under the latest crackdown on junk food won by former President Clinton.

Just five months after a similar agreement targeting the sale of sodas in schools, Clinton and the American Heart Association announced a deal Friday with several major food companies to make school snacks healthier — the latest assault on the nation’s childhood obesity epidemic.

“This is voluntary,” Clinton said. “They don’t have to do it. But they recognize the challenge we face, and they are helping us face the first step.”

Clinton said the obesity problem is hurting the American economy by contributing to high health care costs.

The agreement with Kraft Foods Inc., Mars Inc., Campbell Soup Co., Groupe Danone SA and PepsiCo Inc. sets guidelines for fat, sugar, sodium and calories for snack foods sold in school vending machines, stores and snack bars. Those companies make everything from M&M’s, yogurt and granola bars to Frito-Lay potato chips, Snickers bars and canned soups.

Under the guidelines, most foods won’t be permitted to derive more than 35 percent of their calories from fat and more than 10 percent from saturated fat. There will be a limit of 35 percent for sugar content by weight.

The root problem, IMO, is government ownership of schools.

You're right. Government serves it's own needs, not the people's!

My opinion about Bill Clinton is evident in my screen name. However, he's doing the right thing in this case.

Clinton resorting to kids eating snack foods warms my heart. How far he's fallen.

One reason I pulled my eldest from school was the food. I would send him to preschool with a healthy snack, but the teacher didn't want to let the kids go to the shelves to retrieve their snacks. She said it was much easier to hand out the school (taxpayer-funded) snacks loaded with sugar and all the things I didn't feed my kids (at the time). Then parents would drop off boxes of doughnuts and cookies for the kids to eat. I had many a discussion with the school over that issue. After two months, I think they wanted me out; I was a "troublemaker"... lol.

"This is voluntary"? Clinton, you underestimate our intelligence. We're on to your fascist Healthy People 2010 program, you New World Order SCUM! We already know that Healthy People 2010 is basically word-for-word the lifestyle dictatorship that Lt. Huxley mentioned in Demolition Man where "anything that is unhealthy is bad for you, therefore illegal". So Clinton, stop pretending that you knw what's best for us better than we do, because what you think is SHIT! I'll tell you what...the sooner Clinton drops dead from a massive heart attack, the better.

HillaryCare = Healthy People 2010. Couple this with Codex Alimentarius, and you have a recipe for total enslavement in the New World Order.

Healthy People 2010 disarms the citizens (don't believe me? look around...Healthy People declares guns to be unhealthy, and according to Healthy People 2010, "anything that is unhealthy is bad for you, therefore illegal").

Codex Alimentarius takes away our vitamin supplements and mineral supplements. I have also heart that CA will also dictate how much NATURAL vitamins and minerals you will be allowed to consume from foods, especially fresh fruits and vegetables. How will that be enforced? Rations...enforced by the Real ID Act national ID card which will be used for ALL purchases. Take away vitamsins and minerals and get the sheeple hooked on processed foods full of every chemical available, and the people get sick.

The NWO knows that sick, disarmed people are easier to enslave and bully than healthy, armed people. Disarm the people and take away their guns, and their NWO enslavement is guaranteed.

Anybody who does that will surely be expelled thanks to "zero tolerance". In addition, they would get the MERE PRESENCE of politically-incorrect foods and beverages banned from school campuses. Just imagine a student getting expelled for having a Twinkie in their backpack...that's exactly where we are headed. The schools are prisons, and students are being treated as though they were prisoners in a maximum security prison.

I'm now starting to suspect that one of the Clintons has a 666 somewhere on their scalp...watch out for Chelsea, because she will be eligible for the presidency in 2016.
