NEW YORK The Los Angeles Times has undergone a redesign for it main section and Sunday Calendar.
On Sunday, the paper revealed the new A section with skyboxes to spotlight stories inside, larger headlines, more photographs, and information graphics like sidebars, story boxes, maps and diagrams.
"A key goal of the new design is to highlight stories and information," said Joseph Hutchinson, Los Angeles Times creative director, in a statement. "We have more tools in the design to differentiate the wide range of stories in the A section. Plus, information-rich display elements provide more entry points to stories and ways to disseminate information quickly so that readers can easily find things of interest to them."
On Sunday Oct. 29, the paper will introduce the revamped Calendar section slicing it into two parts: "Movies/TV/Style" and "Arts & Music."
"The Sunday Calendar redesign builds on our coverage strengths and allows us to offer readers more robust content that addresses their immediate interests and needs," said John Montorio, Los Angeles Times associate editor, in a statement.

Thanks to their support of the California Union for bad teachers and English as a second or third language, most of their potential subscribers can't read. So they need pictures and graphics:

New "wide range of stories" include:
Republicans are evil.
Republicans are Nazis.
Republicans want to starve old people.
Republicans are hateful.
Republicans getting rich on the backs of the poor.
Republicans draining money from public education.
Republicans want to pollute the planet.
Republicans cause the world to hate America.
Republicans watch FOX News Channel.
All this (same old, same old) and more coming soon to the LA Times.

" The Los Angeles Times has undergone a redesign ..."
Not enough.
Their problem is the content.
It's useless. All of this stuff is better, more balanced and more robust on the Web. Newspapers are obsolete.
Rose: Mr. Andrews... I saw the iceberg and I see it in your eyes... please, tell me the truth.
Thomas Andrews: The ship... will sink.
Rose: For certain?
Thomas Andrews: Yes, In an hour or so, all of this will be at the bottom of the Atlantic.
