It's a great article about most of the details of Digital Light Processing (DLP) HDTVs and answers the question of whether they have burn-in. According to the article, they don't. It's a real problem with CRT HDTVs. The article also has so many useful links that you almost get a college education on DLP HDTV. Enjoy.

I own a 42" Samsung DLP HDTV and think none are better. Had it for over 2 years and have nothing but praise.

We own a Mitsubishi 52in DLP HDTV and we love it! We've owned it for about 15 months. This is my third Mitsu TV, the last one lasted 16 years. No complaints here!

I stumbled onto a GREAT 4-minute Flash presentation on DLP technology at www.dlp.com which I highly recommend to anyone who is interested in this technology.
Just visit www.dlp.com and click the 'launch the demo' button.

Good Luck on your Samsung. My 5063 is just out of warranty and the stupid thing shuts off for no reason. Turn it back on and it works for awhile then shuts down. Try again and it might work the rest of the evening.
Samsung says "to bad". No wonder they don't sell extended warranties on these sets. My research brought up a lot problems with this model straight from the factory but Samsung doesn't care!
Next time I will buy the LCD but you can bet it won't be a Samsung!

Here a link to a better websight on DLP.

I had the same problem with my computer, and took the side panel off, I think my computers power pack was over heating.
Is the TV in a enclosed cabinet ? enclosed area ? were there is no good ventilation ?
Take a regular floor fan and try to have it running were the air can vent the TV so it won't get hot, it might help.

I'll buy one when they put something on TV or video worth watching. The displays at Best Buy look real good though.

I have a RCA 50" with DLP so far so good. Very nice picture.

I have a 120" LCD Projector.
I bet it's not 1/2 the price of your DLP TV. 1080i picture-incredible clarity, quality, and color.
I LOVE it when people ask me what size my TV is.....Call me crazy, some call me "compensating" for other things (?) so what? Compare and see for yourself!
Wow!
