Kerry's Comments worse than you think

Not only was Kerry's comments an insult to our military and their families, it was also a huge dig (unreported) at anyone who decides to forego college and enter the workplace out of high school. In effect, "Don't go to college, and your stupid." Doesn't look like the Democrat 2004 standard-bearer is working hard for the "working man," does it?

Sounds a bit elitist, doesn't it? Every Dem candidate should be asked to tell Kerry to apologize not only to soldiers, but to every blue-collor worker in America

In effect, "Don't go to college, and your stupid."

It might even leave you confused about about the difference between "your" and "you're."

Sorry...that one GLARED, though...

Hey, Kerry went to college [where he was stupid] and he's still stupid. [I really do think he was taking a jab at the POTUS and not the troops. He's just too stupid to be able to make his point. Of course, the point he intended to make was also stupid.]

Gretchen also just stated on air that Kerry was in the military and Bush wasn't, then went on to tell the number of degreed military, etc. I thought reservists were considered in the military.

Wonder if Kerry is sooo far out of touch he thinks that only college can save you from the draft?

Or are the dems planning on introducting a bill to re-instate the draft?

Well, Kerry has always undermined our military and our country. He's just running true to form with his comments. It's just too bad that there are some twisted individuals out there that will defend and excuse him, no matter what, just as they did with Clinton. And magically, I'm not seeing a thing on Kerry today on MSNBC, after yesterday's poll showing that 59% interpreted his comments correctly as being inappropriate:

Were Sen. John Kerry's remarks linking education to the war in Iraq appropriate? * 284640 responses

Yes; the military has long been a step up for those with less education. 18%

No; the comments implied that service members are not intelligent. 59%

They were misinterpreted or taken out of context. 23%

I guess the DNC got the word out to all the Mainstream Media outlets to not report another word on the issue. And even so, the poll wording wasn't exactly critical of Kerry. Not surprising.

No way he was talking about the President. He made no humorous facial expressions and had he actually made a mistake, he would have apologized instead of pulling a 'toon attack! Don't be so naive!!!

I recall in 2004 we were admonished to appreciate and value Kerry's capacity for intelligent, nuanced speech.
Perhaps Kerry was just being nuanced in his remarks; still, I don't see whatever subtlety he intended.

Democrats have had over 5 years to make contributions to how we could win the war on terror but all they have done is create rights for terrorists!Democrats do not support America nor does anyone who votes for democrats.

I don't know if this point has been made, but it seems to me this sort of language and behavior refutes one of Sen. Kerry's supposed (in his mind at least) main strengths, namely that he is the calm, diplomatic, nuanced professional that will solve all the world's problems by talking!

If sKerry feels that way about the military in Iraq; can you imagine how he feels about subcontractors in Mesopatamia?

I know the difference, nonetheless I still use the incorrect usage too often...

I unfortunately drop words from a sentence and when I read the sentence back to myself I still "see" the missing words - so I don't fix them. Only when I come back after a minute or two does the misuse or missing word stand out.

So either I comment with my faults or I don't comment at all. So I don't judge others too harshly on that front...

I try very hard not to be pedantic on here. My typing sucks, so I come off as illiterate sometimes as well.

That one just stuck in my craw. As you can see, I did it with an apologetic caveat.

If I had a nickel for every time I've refrained from correcting the one that I really have a pet peeve with, which is the use of apostrophes for plurals, I wouldn't have to be a dumbass "stuck in Iraq." (We're getting some mileage out of that one here...LOL)

Oh, we contractors here are just a bunch of uneducated idiots, too!

But we VOTE... ;-)

Was Kerry suggesting to the the crowd his own misgivings in that he was so stupid that he had to go to Vietnam? Was he being self loathing and just projecting?
