So the troops are not worth a timely, proper and heartfelt apology? This only confirms his initial remarks taken as spoken.
If you (students) are not successful, YOU (students) will get stuck in Iraq (like all the other unsuccessful losers who are stuck there now).
No other possible interpretation.
"Combat veteran" and "Cambodia secret sailor"
Three (3) bandaids and out...just doesn't cut mustard.
replies to Ol' Horseface's statement are being reviewed first, and ANY that are not just full support are not being posted. the coward can't take criticism
the problem is that part of the Mainstream Media doesn't know the difference; another good part understands too well but believes that politics is all about framing (underlying meaning doesn't matter...it's just all a game of power-play deconstruction & construction).
In a postmodern universe, kerry can thereby keep his own meaning of what he defacto wants the arrangement of those words to mean, and the media can tout he "apologized" 'cause it sounds close enough to what it was--an apologetic.
Call Kerry now and demand a live fake apology. Funny the Boston number say message center full, please call back another day.... call Washington and its busy....LOL OFF THE HOOK IS MORE LIKE IT!!!!

Kerry: I'm sorry some of you were too stupid to correctly interpret my little joke about that dummy George Bush. I personally apologize to any service member or other stupid American who took my words the wrong way. There, that's done.
No one misinterpreted anything. He SAID the exact words that were so offensive.
I just called here and this dude is sick, tired and rude. I demanded a live fake apology and he said it would happen. He said read it on Kerry's web site, I said I am a democrat on welfare and have no puter.....He was really rude..call now folks, demand live fake apology

I am primarily a lurker here at FR, but this "joke" by JK has made me incredibly angry. Though I know they have more class than to lower themselves to this, I still hope some of our biggest servicemen run into this doofus when he is alone and give him the @sswhoopin of a life time.
President Bush could fly a fighter jet Mr. Kerry, could you?
You Mr. Kerry drove a boat, my grandson could drive a boat when he was four yrs. of age.
My grad son got a scratch one day from passing a shrub next to shore and, I immediately ordered him a Purple Heart.
This song from the Bee Gees comes to mind:
I [John Kerry] Started A Joke
I started a joke, which started the whole [lib/Dem] world crying,
But I didnt see that the joke was on me, oh no.
I started to cry, which started the whole world laughing,
Oh, if Id only seen that the joke was on me.
I looked at the skies, running my hands over my eyes,
And I fell out of bed, hurting my head from things that Id said.
Til I finally died, which started the whole world living,
Oh, if Id only seen that the joke was on me.
I looked at the skies, running my hands over my eyes,
And I fell out of bed, hurting my head from things that Id said.
til I finally died, which started the whole world living,
Oh, if Id only seen that the joke was one me.
Thanks, I wondered about that. It certainly looked strange to my eyes but I thought it could be an American way of using the word "troops". apparently not so.
So the well educated Senator Kerry has produced one statement that I and many others were convinced was straight out of ScrappleFace and a second statement using ungrammatical language.
Stuck on stupid was it?
The wusses at NRO are letting the weasel off the hook.
"That depends on what the meaning of 'is' is."

Then maybe I will accept his apology, which this is NOT.
My favorite post from DU:

I think he should of stood by the statement ,It's like being called a Liberal and not running from it, but clinging to it.This to me is another CarHart he has chose to wear ,John Kerry is a good man ,Al gore is who we need
Isn't this just a whole lot like Hanoi Jane's "apology" to the Nam troops? It was something VERY MUCH like this. The arrogant libs can't allow themselves to say a simple, "I'M SORRY."
