FINALLY Bush said something I am glad he said.

"I thought the people understood about the importance of tax cuts and fighting the war on terror....but, the people have spoken"....

THERE you go...he just let it out...how disappointed he is with Americans that voted AGAINST the tax cuts..and national security.

The timing thingy has been much better since Tony Snow...I guess Tony didn't have any say....LOL

As we all know, last night was not just a victory for the Dems and terrorists. It was a major win for the MSM. Without their brainwashing of the masses, these victories may not have happened.

Bob Dole doesn't have VP of the US on his resume because the Dem Senate would not give Ford the guy he really wanted so Dole was not nominated.

Surprise Surprise Bush will push for "comprehensive immigration reform", amnesty, and a Rat Congress will be happy to give it to him.

You're disclosing your intelligence.

Actually you're "disclosing" ("exposing" would be a better choice of words here, oh MasterBlogger...) your lack of intelligence.

And your ensuing questions neither make sense nor are they relevant to the discussion at hand. That said, I'm done with you. Sit home in front of your computer and hope all you like. Those that actually do things in life have work to do.

sounds like total denial to me, I think he's cracking up.

Now he's trumpeting his past capitulations to the left (No Child Left Behind, etc.) It sounds like he's, in effect, resigning and turning the helm over to the legislature but will continue to occupy the White House until his term is up.

As I write this, he's how pushing guest worker BS again. I think his presidency just ended.

May not have happened?!? I'd be willing to bet they WOULDN'T have happened at all! I am absolutely sick to my stomach now more than ever. And to top it all off, the rats are dancing on his grave.

Sad, sad time in America.

I am baffled. How hard is it for Bush to simply do what the conservative voices call for? Why is this so difficult? he makes no friends either way so why not try to satisfy your base?

Totally dumbfounded here.

_____________

Pres. Bush is to a fault too practical and not anchored deeply in philosophical conservatism. This is why he makes deals with people like Kennedy over education. He just got burned for wasting his voice on finding common ground with Democrats and I admit he sounds "scatter brained" right now since losing. Bush leans way too forward trying to make friends and its hurting him now. We lost because Pres. Bush and his team did not hit back when we needed him to defend a robust and thriving conservatism.

"It's your type of bull-headedness-thinking that will keep us in that damn Iraq another 10 years...
Yeah. So how's that occupation of Germany/Japan going, Slick? 61 years and still counting?

Anybody who thought we were just going to slip in, oust the bad man, and slide right out again needs to go back to playing their XBox. You don't give up a strategic position in the heart of the enemies' territory so weak-willed mushbrains like you can sleep with a clear conscience at night.

Gawd you people have no understanding of military strategy at all."

Sorry Liberty, your post was so important that I had to post it again.

By the way, we're going to have to invade Iran someday too.

Great post.

This press conference is a mini-disaster. I wish Laura was in the wings with a hook.

The President is nervous, wired and embarrassingly over-eager at too detailes with his answers.

No sense in saying how this presser should have been conducted because, as the president said, you don't get to do overs.

DEMs can filibuster judges why not SOD

It's procedurally possible, but I don't see it politically. Gates doesn't have a lot of baggage, and a lot of the Senators who will vote on him already approved him for CIA in 1991. I don't think they could hold off a cloture vote.

Not to mention that Gates is probably about as good, from the Dems' perspective, as any Bush appointee they're going to get, and it wouldn't look good for the Dems to crank up the gridlock machine before they even take over the majority. I think they'll play (relatively) nice and keep their powder dry until the investigations start in January.

What happened to the strong leader I voted for?

The one that didn't clean house of all the Clinton types and failed to veto CFR and during the first Kerry debate kept saying how hard the job was

Bush is a nice guy with integrity but he and Rove don't have the stones needed in today's America

Good catch. I was typing fast and you are quite correct, the word, "may" should have been "wouldn't. :)
