Read and weep Julian Sanchez's "Your Tears Are So Yummy and Sweet" in which the writer says he finds joy in the tears of Rick Santorum's eight-year-old daughter, who is pictured crying next to her father as he gives his concession speech on Tuesday night, November 7. Most of the comments that follow celebrate and contribute to Mr. Sanchez's meanness. Well, I agree with you that it's wrong, whichever side of the aisle the parent is on.
It does a disservice to our side as well when people attack their political opponents based on their looks. For exmaple, I don't dislike Helen Thomas because of what she looks like, and I wouldn't expect an 80-something year old woman to be a beauty queen, either.
I do find her politics repehensible, though, and I believe that if a person is going to attack her anti-American positions, then that's what they should do.
When you attack a person's child or their looks because you disagree with their politics, you dilute your argument and come across as if you're position is indefensible. I always cringe when I see posts like that.

I enter into a distress state when I hear a woman or a child cry.I do not panic,but try and stem the flow as best I can.To do something as despicable as that,takes a certain person.If that is his way of life,someone needs to report him to CPS!If he has any.

Since I have that show on videotape, I know exactly how it came down, and it was an accident.
The explanation below is accurate, regardless of what goof-balls like Al Franken try to make out of it in order to advance their own careers by trading on Rush's name.

The writer said in, cute kid in the White House; out, cute dog in the White House. Could we show the cute dog in the White House who's out, and they put up a picture of Chelsea Clinton back in the crew. And many of you people think that we did it on purpose to make a cheap comment on her appearance. And I'm terribly sorry. I don't--look, that takes no talent whatsoever and I have a lot of talent. I don't need to get laughs by commenting on people's looks, especially a young child who's done nothing wrong. I mean, she can't control the way she looks. And we really--we do not--we do not do that on this kind of show. So put a picture up of her now and so we can square this.

The obvious fact that this is an altered photo does not make his comments less despicable. But what is the motivation in faking this picture? Just to give people a chance to pick on a little girl? Whole thing very weird.
