Yet another example of why Libertarians suck.

Hi "MadIvan"!

I will need to follow up here. This is going to take me some time. I have to admid that I have been completely unaware of the first, i.e., "earmarks". I, a proud Republican, believe that the "entitlements" definitely need to be privatized too. At any rate, I certainly appreciate your rapid fire response.

Snarky so-called Libertarian types who think they are smarter than everyone else.

Why do you ask?

Go poke around FedSpending.org - a lot of it is absolutely appalling. Enjoy! :)

I have been away from Free Republic for several years until recently. For the most part, this site has wonderful people who interact here. However, I have also noticed here and there, that some pretty nasty comments and remarks are made. I am not referring to yours. I am just curious and perhaps you're helping to educate me.

Thank you!

I will do that as soon as I possibly can. I want to improve myself and my political party as much as possible. Thank you for your help.

I can njot remeber any abuse heaped on Chelsea, until she entered the arena of politics (remember her account of 9-11?).

Well, there was that John McCain joke from 1998.

They rarely ever do. I'm used to it by now. :-)

Yeah, me too. Being a conservative is a load of fun, It's not even a week after the debacle and I'm already back in fighting trim. I want to be a happy warrior like Barbara Olson.

I am very much against higher taxes and spending, and have said so a number of times. But if I had a choice between raising someone's taxes and ripping their limbs off, I'd raise their taxes. If I had a choice between having my taxes raised and having my limbs torn off, I would choose to pay more taxes.

The victims of the current crop of tax and spend Republicans not only lived through it, but got to vote them out in revenge. The victims of your party's moral failure (which is not a departure from your principles, but an expression of them) will never have that opportunity. Forty million dead kids is nothing to be proud about.

MadIvan is accurate as usual, but I'd like to note the following, which Seruzawa and so many others fail to grasp:

The spending on the part of the GOP is a violation of the party's principles. Libertarian Party support of abortion on demand is an expression of their principles, even though their reverence for the individual should put them on the side of protecting life.

The victims of the GOP spending got their revenge on Tuesday by voting them out of the majority. The victims of abortion will never get any chance for recompense in this world.

If I had a choice between raising someone's taxes and ripping their limbs off, I would raise their taxes. If I had a choice between having my own taxes raised and having my limbs tisted off, I would pay the tax.

Even if Republicans really were ideologically driven to spend and grow government, their views would not be remotely as repugnant as the idea that one can dismember a small child and call it a right.

A lack of fiscal responsibility is hardly equivalent to forty million dead kids thrown out in the trash, but the Libertines will tell you it is.

Good Morning "Mr. Silverback"!!

I finally crashed last night after sleeping poorly all week (since Tuesday) and am just getting to these "pings" this morning.

"The spending on the part of the GOP is a violation of the party's principles."

I understand this. I am simply making an effort to determine the specifics of the alleged spending. This is not say that I have no understanding of the same. I just want to have details when I interact on a subject with others; i.e., I prefer to know what I am talking about.

"Libertarian Party support of abortion on demand is an expression of their principes, even though their reverence for the individual should put them on the side of protecting life."

I must say, this is an eyeopener to me! I had no idea that the Libertarian Party supported abortion on demand!! Is Bill O'Reilly a Libertarian? It follows than that I want to know if he supports abortion on demand. Does he?

The victims of the GOP spending got their revenge on Tuesday by voting them out of the majority..."

This only makes limited sense to me. It was a revolt, right? The part that does not make sense to me, however, is to, by revolting in this manner, secure for "the" BIGGEST spenders (the Democrats)positions of responsibility who will no doubt spend more than has been going on. I also do not understand that in throwing out the alleged big spending GOP, are you not opening yourself up to all of the other machinations of the liberals...democrats who believe that there is such a thing as the "spirit of the Constitution" which of course translates into the appointment of all manner of lousy Supreme Court "justices" and ALL of the sludge they always bring with them; substantially poorer, or no, leadership regarding foreign policy thus endangering our troops and the rest of us over here with a much higer risk of another 9/11 or worse; Nancy Pelosi exactly two (2) heart beats from the White House (God above, help us!); this list goes on and on...Is it that the voters in rebellion think this was THE only way to fix the spending problems?

"The victims of abortion will never get any chance for recompense in this world."

AMEN!!! So, the unborn babies have to contend not only with the liberal Democrats, but with the "Libertarians" as well?

If I had a choice between raising some's taxes and ripping their limbs off, I would raise their taxes. If I had a choice between having my own taxes raised and having my limbs twisted off, I would pay the tax."

I guess that this is another way of saying precisely what I have asked above. The only issue I have with this point is that, at some point, for an adult human being there may well come a time when he/she might opt to have the limbs twisted off (i.e., Boston Tea Party). In this case, however, it is a fully developed and allegedly mature adult making a choice for himself/herself; unlike deciding that women have some completely unstated "right" to murder their offspring. So, I am clearly agreeing that:

"Even if Republicans really were ideologically driven to spend and grow government, their views would not be remotely as repugnant as the idea that one can dismember a small child and call it right."

AMEN!!!

"A lack of fiscal responsibility is hardly equivalent to forty million dead kids thrown out in the trash, but the Libertines will tell you it is"

Well, they will get no where with me on the issue of abortion. I think abortion is a national moral disgrace regardless of the petty arguments for the butchery. There is simply no way that anyone can make me believe that this position (abortion on demand is ok) is consistent with clear thinking on the part of any other living breathing soul. I just cannot make that fit no matter how hard I might try to stretch the limits of the clearly worded U.S. Constitution, the Federalist Paper's, all of the writings of our Founding Fathers and Mothers, and on and on it goes. I will do my homework about the alleged big spending of the GOP, but I still question the wisdom of thowing out big spenders to put in office THE BIGGEST SPENDERS of all.

Thank you very much for your insightful and helpful response to my question(s).
