Obama? Call Me When He Suits Up Against The Varsity!

Perhaps it isn't fair to Barak Obama that the Illinois GOP declared 2004 as Their Nominate-A-Mongoloid Year when they contended against his rise to the US Senate. After all, Tim Johnson of South Dakota and Harry Reid of Nevada have both beaten back very serious opposition and proven they can beat a quality opponent in a tight Senatorial Election.

Barak Obama? He spent 2004 as a grown man fighting out the T-Ball World Series. How bad were the GOP candidates he ran against? So bad that....

We'll start with Jack Ryan. If you were to type "Ryan, Illinois, sex-scandal" into Yahoo and hit search, you'd get over ten pages of hits. Candidates who marry Hollywood Starlets and then take them to sex-clubs tend to fare poorly in most demographics of the American electorate.

The next great GOP hope was Ex-NFL Coach Mike Ditka. The same Mike Ditka who donned a fake set of dreadlocks to celebrate selecting Ricky Williams in the first round of the NFL draft. Then Senator George Allen explained that this wouldn't play well in Chi-Town, and Ditka decided not to run.

After the Ryan Revelation and The Ditka Debauchle, The GOP outdid itself and nominated Alan Keyes to challange Barak Obama to a toe-to-toe charisma fight. Since US Senate elections lack the little league slaughter rule, Alan Keyes was there up until the end to embarass the GOP.

This wasn't the first time Keyes had gotten served up for the executioner in a high profile political contest. In Maryland, where Keyes actually lives, he had lost Senate races to Paul Sarbanes in 1988 and to Barbara Mikulski in 1992. He received a Goldwateresque 38% against Sarbanes in 1988 which was to be his high water mark.

Again, Obama had no control over the fact that he has yet to face a legitimate political foe. However, the total lack of serious opposition certainly makes this media rush to crown him The Holy and Righteous ContraHillary vastly premature. He basically strikes me as the Oprah! of modern Democratic Party politics. He looks great in carefully scripted settings. As for his Presidential credentials, let's discuss those when he's actually proven he can suit up against the varsity.

Obama needs to beat a legitimate opponent before he can be considered ready. I hope the Dems nominate him. He'll look just as puerile as Playstation Johnnie Edwards did in a debate against Dick Cheney.

I hear Obama is going to change his first name to Barruch to counteract the negativity of his middle name, Hussein. lol. He wanted to change his middle name but all that people could come up with was Hillary.

You can thank, or not, the Chicago media for Obama's rise to Presidential status.

Lawsuits from the media have had several judges opening the divorce files of his opponents.

He should have changed his first name to Al

Then he'd be Al Obama. That would play well in the south.

Bang! How many people remember that is Chicago's own Daley who oversaw the Florida polls in 2000?

Who can rig an election like a Daley?

But this is too real to try and craft a soundbyte for...

The really funny part about Obama running is that Hilary can't say a damn thing against him or all hell will break loose on her for daring to criticise a black man. She has to hope that someone else digs up the dirt or that she can convince him to step down "for the good of the party". This should be fun.

Osama Obama wasn't on the Clintons' radar screen when they were data-mining those FBI files...

Ryan was a Mark Foley or a Bill Clinton waiting to happen. The Chicago media took down a fat partridge with him.

Doesn't matter. Even if she finds something and passes it on to someone else to 'leak', if it gets traced back to her, she's screwed. She can't even appear to be trying to torpedo his candidacy.

IOW: He's a blank slate, the media can write any wonderful thing they want onto him. He's never been defined by an opponent and no one will get the chance until 08- except the media.

I still can't believe the bigot Dems are going to run even a half-black candidate for VP though.

Does anyone think that people from Indiana (you name the other states that won't) will vote fore a President named Obama?
